I'm not sure if i'm in the right place. i did my best to try to find the right place. My question is about using mods and the computer OS. I have windows 7 and use mods. for awhile things where fine but then suddenly my computer says i have a fake copy of windows 7. When i had norton, i would scan the file i downloaded for the mod to be sure there where no viruses. all was OK. I don't have norton anymore and hade to re download some mods. That's when the problem happened. My game works fine. It'sa other functions that stopped working. I can't make DVDs anymore, can't connect my ipod and so on. I'm sorry if this is the wrong place. Please help. Has anyone ever had this problem before? :( :help:

Well, where did you get the copy of Windows 7?
Has it been authenticated upon install? Are you able to run Windows Updates?

And which anti-virus did you install to replace Norton?

I think it was free and it's a actual copy with disks.

I tried AVG but i thought it let a virus threw a few months ago. I think i'll give it another try. right now, unless ad-aware is one i have no anti-virus.

It cannot be free, the price would have been included in the PC purchase price. If it is totally free, than it is a pirated copy. Yes, even pirated copies can have the packaging copied, if one doesn't know how to tell the difference.
If you need to enter a code and then can be authenticated, than it is genuine. What do you see under the Windows activation section at the bottom of the image if you go to the following path - Control Panel / System and Security / System?
