Repo linking breaking recolorable. My standard problem

I have no idea why I suck at this, but almost everytime I do it, it breaks. I take a set, make them recolorable, then try to repo link them and it breaks the recolorablity. What is it that I'm missing each time?

you need to put the custom id in the tsMaterialsmeshName >> ##0x1C050000! if it is a custom object. Otherwise try fix integrity.

i had tried it both ways and neither seemed to help. I'll fix that and then see if that's all that was wrong.
