I know right, in real life (for me) its more like: awkward introduction, attempt to make small talk, awkward silence..... :faceslap:

I've never been able to go from meet to marry in one day with out outings and dating. :p Usually took me two. With out dating, I never bothered with woohoo, too tiring for the sim!
I'm glad it's not that easy irl. Would make things boring.

Then again, one day in sim time is one year in our time. There are a lot of real-life people who meet and marry within the year.

My husband and I were married maybe 10 months after we met.
We've been married 18 1/2 years so far.

Wait. One Sim day is one year IRL? So their day is 6 months long, and they work IDK how many weeks without coming home?

It's a simulation. Each sim day can be considered to be a series of "typical" days.
They are adults for 29 days. They die around 60 days old, give or take. One sim day is more or less equivalent to one of our years.
Sure, it might be nice to get fit by exercising for a day, or to fall in love and marry after a day, but not if I would have died 60 days after I was born.

Eh... the time simulation has always been a bit wonky.
If one Sim day is a year, then that would mean pregnancy lasts three years, and that seasons last five. Last I checked, the Sims don't live in Westeros.

Absolutely. EA made some decisions about time based on what they felt would be the most fun. It also doesn't take me an hour to use the toilet, another hour to shower, and two hours or more to eat breakfast because I'm talking with my family.
That still doesn't change the fact that sims only live about 60 days. If you only have 60 days to live, you'd better be able to get involved with someone pretty quickly, or you'll never get married or have children.

For me I think that time is more like three months to a day, but Seasons totally screwed that up for me. It just kind of made more sense, I did the math once on it and it seemed to work out.

My sims usually die at about 70 days....
However, I think I'm glad I never had to be pregnant for three years at a stretch....

The baby phase also lasts too long, based on 1 sim day = 1 real year. Obviously, EA thought that the pregnancy and baby stages needed to be longer than in real life so that they would be more challenging.

but just as IRL the teenage days last for EVER (in the parents' eyes)

I love this. I try hard to sort of spread time out in my Sims' lives, but once I'm set on something I do it immediately.
I even, using inTeen, speed up their pregnancy to 1.5 hours. I just don't have much patience.
Unless it's a family I have a love for. Then I take my time and care for them. Other than that, stuff that happens in three years irl, happens in three days (or less) for my Simmies.
