View Full Version : My Sims 3 neighborhood is red, any idea as to how I fix it?

The last few days whenever I go into my sims 3 game, the neighbor hood shows up red, when i go into main menu or CAS its normal though. Its a weird glitch and i have no idea how to fix it. Please don't say reinstall, that would take hours and i don't think it would help.
I am on Windows 7 OS.
Yes I am on a laptop with Intel Pentium, but that Is not the problem.
I have had a new laptop for about 3 months and sims 3 has worked fine on it until now.
The Sims 3 settings is on default, so I'm pretty sure It not the graphics card being overworked.
I am using mods. I have recently added a few NRAAS mods to my game, but the game was still fine for a few days. I was thinking it was because of the mods but I have tried clearing the cache and trying different combinations of mods at once (just my older mods, or only one kind of NRAAS mod, everything except awesome.package, no mods at all)
I have dashboard and apparently NRAAS career and the Story progression mod conflict but it says on the website that that is an error (though i still tried without one of the mods)
I tried deleting the my documents folder so that it would load a new one, that wasn't the problem.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
By the way I have all the expansions and none of the stuff packs. My latest version is 12.0.273.015001

I also posted this on Yahoo Answers but I thought I would have more luck here.

http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=382075 - Here is something I found on the same thing, which didn't really answer my question, but the photo is what my game looks like.

I just tried going into another neighborhood, and instead of being red, it was normal except the water was flashing different shades of green, gray and sometimes brown.

Have you tried removing your user data (the Sims 3 folder in Documents), by renaming it or moving it to your desktop, to see if a new town with new user data has the same problem?
Have you ever installed CC the old way, that is by putting it in Program Files, or by using the Helper Monkey?
What are your Game Help:System Specs?

Yes I renamed it, and it was the same.

I always install it the old way, i just add it to package files or downloads, i don't use any helper applications.

Still nothing different happening :(

So you install all your CC into Program Files, not Documents?

No I meant:

.package files - C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages
.sim3pack - Documents\Electronic Arts\The sims 3\Documents

Ok, in that case you need to switch to the up-to-date way of installing .package file CC: Game Help:Installing Sims 3 Package Files/Old Way to New Way.

I suggest just removing the "old way", then trying out your game again before putting your CC back in "the new way".

That actually worked. My game is normal and my CC is working. Thank you :)
