Is there any way to get my Sims 2 album back?

Hi, this is my first post in the MtS forums so hopefully it's in the right place - sorry if it isn't.
Please help me if you can :)

An album that I had been working on for ages was on my Sims 2 game, but on opening it yesterday I discovered that although the pictures were there, they had all been 'removed' from the album and my captions were gone.

I searched for this problem and I found this: archived MtS help question (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=473152). I tried the tips on there, but I cannot find these xmls. I have gone through the ones that I could find in the Neighborhood folder where the pictures are and although they have the family name and address they don't have any of the captions I have lost.

Is there anywhere else I can look? I don't want to have to start all over.

Do you have a recent backup from before this happened?

If so, and you copied the entire neighborhood folder, it will have the old storytelling files in it.

This does not guarantee that the same thing won't happen again, but at least you have access to the old pictures and captions. It's possible that an album has a maximum size past which the game can't handle it, in which case you'll want to convert it to some other format if you can.
