Hello,

I have Windows 7 and a copy of the original sim city. windows 7 does not allow me to install this. Does anyone have any ideas for how I might get this work?

Compatibility mode will probably work. If not, SimCity might even be old enough to run under DOSBox.

That sounds great. What are those things? I have limited computer knowledge.

As Whiterider pointed out, it should work fine in DosBox - http://www.dosbox.com - which is a dos emulator that runs in Windows and allows you to play older Dos run games that you can't run in a modern windows environment.

I just did a quick check and yes, it does run in DosBox. Let us know how you go.

Runs for me as well, but be careful of random stalls when switching between modes.

I'd try compatibility mode first (right-click, Properties, Compatibility - pick a version of Windows which you know it used to work under, or failing that, the oldest version of Windows in the list), just because if it works, it will be easier to use than DOSBox.
