About a week ago, I tried to move the Electronic Arts folder to my D: hard drive to try and make some room and I thought the game would load like normal but after I did it and tried to install an EP, I got an update error when it asked to update the game. I tried a few more times, no luck so I moved the folder back to the C: and tried opening the launcher and I got this error:
"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\Sims3Launcher.exe is not a valid Win32 application."
So I uninstalled The Sims 3 and deleted the Electronic Arts folder and tried again, no luck. I did this a few times (The EA folder didn't regenerate) but still got the exact same error.
I checked out this forum that someone had linked for me:
http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/28290.page
which people had said to go into the file manager for the game, go into the game folder then the bin folder, copy the "Sims3Launcher.ex_",place it on the desktop and change the _ to e and put it back int he folder but thats were I have trouble.
I can't figure out how to put the file into the "bin" folder. It always says there's not enough room for it. Now it says down the bottom of the file manager for the game disc "files ready to be written onto the disc" and then it had the game files and the bin files and the content inside the bin folder with it. I don't know if this is bad or doesn't affect anything but I was able to copy "sims3launcher.exe" into the bin folder, only to have it say its ready to be written on the disc and the file underneath it.
What do I do? I've been trying to fix this problem all week but no one has replied on my thread on the main website.
edit: I made a desktop shortcut from TS3.exe which is supposed to work or something but when I click on it, it doesn't do anything. Nothing happens. If Itry and use sims3launcher.exe though from when I renamed it, it comes up with "sims3launcher has stopped working".
