Hiya!

Just another crazy question. So, does anyone know if it's possible to extract lots (both community and residential) and modify them to show up in the lot catalog? I basically have a world with many lots that I want to save to the lot catalog to use them in another world. I would very much like to avoid the hassle of loading that world and having to save every single lot manually if there's an easier way. :-)

Hmm..................

In the Lots folder for the world, could you change the ".lot" to ".package", and put it in your sims 3 library folder?

If you try it, let me know if it works.

Afraid not, I had to do just that when I needed all the different lots from the various worlds. I have all of the community lots from all the worlds here if you want.

I agree with omegastarr82- the information in the lot files in the CAW folders contain the information for the actual base lots too, not just the buildings. So if you put those in your library, the game will probably crash when you try to place them, as it will be trying to cut a hole in the world to place the base lot as well!

I'm glad you bumped it. I missed SS's & omegastarr82 response. Seems like I should have realized that to begin with, lol.

*laughs* I don't know why it didn't occur to me when I wrote the initial question, honestly. It works, though. Okay, it's really hard to keep track of which lot is which but ... it works! :P
