After a couple of my sims went on vacation the sunburn "stuck", this has now been present through teenage and university life. The sim that got tanned restored to normal soon after returning home. After googleing this problem I saw that the suggested solution was to download and install MATY FFS Debugger in order to use Fix/Sunburn. I Have successfully downloaded and placed this in the game folder (it shows up in the custom content box on start-up).
I do not understand how to use the debugger nor does the read-me contain any information beyond what features are included. I have attempted to click on the sim in question (no unusual options appear) and I have checked for some sort of item in the catalogue (nothing unusual). Can someone please explain what I need to do/offer an alterative solution to this known bug?
I have all the expansions and stuffpacks and am fully patched.
Please help

It should be in misc./misc., same place as the trash cans are, IIRC. It's a black box with a bat symbol on it (this is why it's also referred to as the batbox).

It's a good idea to place the bat box on every lot as you can clear away all kind of things on it. Once you have found it in the catalogue and placed it have the sim in question click on the box and choose fix/tans and sunburn (or it says something close to that)

OK slight problem: the batbox is not showing up in misc/misc and I've not seen it anywhere else either. I have attempted to access it from a normal residential lot, an apartment and a dorm. I have restarted the game, the .package shows up in custom content. I downloaded it from here (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/ffs/index.php?dir=al%2Fhacks%2F) and as I run apartmentlife I went with the A/L option.
Any ideas?

It would be really helpful if all of your other CC was also not showing up, but I suppose if that were the case you would have posted before now. You have the right version. And now you know what to look for and where it should be.
I suppose the next step is to run HCDU and see if there is something conflicting with it. (Although I have no idea what that might be.)

I only had hacks before, all of which were working but none of which were items. I did just try to download some walls and floors, neither of which shows up in the catalog but again are present in the start-up dialogue.
Also, what is HCDU?

The HCDU (Hack Conflict Detection Utility) is here:

Navigate Sims 2/Programs, and it's the second one down.

Oh the cleverness of me. I had custom content enabled in the game but not in the catalogue - no wonder it wasn't showing up *embarrassed*
Issues resolved, thanks for all your help!
