I have this large family, and the head of the family, named Jen, has had many wives. Problem is, I forgot to write down their names before they each married Jen.
Now, can someone tell me if there is any program, such as SimPE, that can enable me to find out the names these married sims had previously.
This is for the Sims 2, okay.
If there is no way I can find out the answer, then it is alright, I just needed to be sure.

Not directly. The sim's name changes throughout on marriage - if you look in the memories, you'll see that the ones that reference a last name change the last name all along the way. It's to do with the sim's ID number, I believe - can't have two different names attached to an ID number.
If the wife has relatives, you can look in the family tree. If the wife is a premade or a default townie, you can look her original name up in the wiki, or in a different neighborhood that has the same premades and townies. If she's a downtownie or CAS sim with no family tree, you're out of luck.

If a Sim gets married, then the last name changes in SimPE also. So, there is no way to tell once a Sim gets married that their maiden name was.

If you have a backup of the neighborhood before the marriages, you can find out their names from your backup.

Unless the wives have family who bear the original surname, you can't see the maiden name. I know it from my own families: the last Sim of family A, a female, married a male Sim from family B. From that day she was called with the surname from family B, it was also her surname in SimPE.
