View Full Version : Can townies get pregnant?

I have yet to do this in game, but I plan on having my sim cheat on his wife with a maid. Would the try for baby option be available when they are in bed if the maid doesn't live in the house? Can you try for baby with any non-household sim? If so, will the townie remain pregnant? Would the pregnancy resume when they were moved in? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just curious!

Conception can only happen on the conceiving sim's home lot, so no, townies and other NPCs can't get pregnant, nor can a playable who's woo-hooing at a lover's house or on a community lot. (eta: Oops - scratch the part about community lots. I was typing faster than my brain was thinking, apparently. ;) )
I don't know if the various hacks that have "Make Pregnant With..." options can be used to get around this, but I don't know that I'd recommend doing it even if you can. My guess is that the option won't appear if circumstances aren't correct.

I have a teleporter shrub, so moved in a townie lady temporarily, with Benjamin Long.
So they could, you know.
Then she became a townie again. (The shrub has that option too).
I am sorry to say that the poor lady was pregnant for many years.
Time does not pass for townies, does it?

I wasn't even aware they were at it until I heard the lullaby!
Townies and non-controllable playables on their lovers' lot are fair enough - I know that the pregnancy token saves to the female's home lot, but when you're controlling the playable on a community lot? She's going to go back home eventually...

Because the information is slightly wrong. Sims can only get pregnant if you're playing them at the time.

Playables can certainly get pregnant on community and holiday lots. So long as the one getting pregnant is playable I should think it could happen anywhere. No real point to get townies pregnant unless it's for a story as once made into a townie/NPC again of course they will stay pregnant forever. Don't know what would happen if you had that hack that ages townies a day if they walk on your lot though. My guess is they would get older while still being the same number of hours pregnant.

Sorry for the goof, and thanks - I fixed it. :)
ETA: What if the playable to be impregnated is on the community lot as a visitor while you're playing someone else?

A playable woman can only get pregnant while you have the option of controlling her. So, if her picture's not currently in the sim panel, she won't be able to try for baby or get ACR pregnant. So in other words, no. A playable spawns on a community lot as a visitor while you're playing another household on the same lot can't get pregnant unless you make her selectable.

Thank you. That's what I thought, but after getting part of it wrong, I wanted to double-check.

From my experiences playable sims can get pregnant even when you are not playing them, however my pregnancy happened via ACR and I am not sure if it could happen without it. This is what happened: Kent Capp was on a date with Bianca Monty(on a community lot) and he woohooed with her in the changing room. I didn't hear the chime, so when I played the Monty ranch later, I was really shocked when Bianca popped. Kent and Bianca moved into their own house far, far away from their evil relatives and had a very quick wedding.

I meant playable as in fully controllable at that time. I don't think in normal game play a sim could get pregnant when they are not playable, ACR changes things.

I know that was requested as a feature after ACR 2 came out, but none of the later updates ever said it was added. There are a couple of mods at a place that I don't think we're allowed to name that have that feature, though.

If you are referring to..adult websites...I can assure you that I don't use them or any mods coming from them.

I have ACR 2 along with an 'adult mod' and currently all 3 of my townie neighbors in the apartment complex my sim lives in are pregnant. Using the pregnancy scanner and accelerate pregnancy options from the sim blender they can get up to 2nd bump and then just kinda float in pregnancy limbo. I'm currently trying to build a relationship with one, mostly to see if when they move in she will have the baby.

There is also the magic mirror hack that lets you control normally non-playable visitors - along with the insiminator or tombstone of L&D I see no reason why you couldn't make a townie pregnant. I don't know if it would be a good idea though.

Is there a fake baby belly you can put on sims as an accessory? That would be cool to see pregnant townies walking around town lol
