Firefighter Stuck!

I'm fairly new to the sims 3, and I only have the base game.
I had a fire in my house, the firefighters came out but one of them wont leave, and his truck is still outside. I cant talk to him or interact with him at all. I used the moveobjects cheat to put him in the garden as he was getting in the way in the kitchen. How do I get rid of him all together?! I've tried calling out the firefighters again and it didnt work.

Open up the cheats console (Ctrl + Shift + C) then type in resetsim simname and replace simname with the name of the firefighter.

It happened to me once, moveobjects on and delete the truck.
