Help With CC

Hello,

I started playing The Sims 3, I used to play The Sims 2 and download everything from here which was easy at the time. I really need help with downloading CC to my game, I read everything, I have Zip-7 & windows 7. When I download a CC and open the file and try to add it in the game it comes up with "Can't Find This File"
Looking at the file its a white icon when I click to open there is nothing there. Can someone please help me with this issue, they have really nice stuff here I want to add in my game.

Open the file? From Windows Explorer? Why are you trying to open the file?

Using CC is, after the CC Framework is in place, you
- download CC
- unarchive/decompress/whatever you call it (if in .rar/zip/7z)
- place it in the proper location (if .package)
- Place it in Downloads & install it in Launcher (if .sims3pack)
- BOOM! Profit! And Play!

There's nothing in the instructions to open the CC...??
