Coupons?

Today while playing my legacy family, I got a coupon in the mail for a free meal. I've never had this happen before. How is it used? Can it be used? What EP did this come with?

I think those come with FT, although I could be wrong. I believe that you just go to the restraunt, and when you're done, instead of paying normally, there's a 'use cupon' option as well.

I have Nightlife and I get them, but, only after I eat out enough (a few times on a few dates).

I thought they came with AL and were connected to the reputation. At any rate, before I get coupons in the mail the first time I'll get a pop-up on a community lot (usually in the middle of a dream date) saying "Oh, Active Sim, your reputation is going up!...Some good things will be coming your way soon." I associate them with lots of positive interactions with other sims - hence the pop-up during a dream date.

Whoever goes to the mailbox when they arrive gets them. They sit in inventory and can be given as gifts or left out to be picked up and put in somebody else's inventory.

It's Nightlife, you get it randomly after you go out on a date to a restaurant Downtown. It's just used the next time you dine out :)

Possibly the function was changed with AL then, because I have to choose to use them. My sims generally get a bunch in college and save them for the lean days of real life.

I also can choose to use them if I want to. What's more is that if any member of the casual group has a coupon while dining, playable or unplayable, the option is available as well.

It must've come with NL then, because I don't have AL. I find it weird that I've had deluxe from the beginning and not once have I ever gotten a coupon... and my sims are always downtown!

The feature came with Nightlife. After dining at restaurant for several times you get a coupon which you can use to get a free meal at any restaurant in the game. In order to do this, instead of choosing "Pay bill" or "Skip out on bill" on the podium after eating at a restaurant, you have to choose "Use coupon".

Yes, but you'd have to make some way for it to bring the business owner a profit. Like, using it would give a huge boost to customer loyalty stars or something. Otherwise they'll use it to buy the most expensive item and the business owner gets nothing
