fires do not display properly in fireplaces or pits or when something burning

as the title says i cannot see any type of fire in my game.(i have base game and Late Night) I get the glow from the fire but there are no flames.I'm kinda new to sims3,but not a total moron.Any help from you wonderful creators and modders would be most appreciated.btw fountain water jets and other graphics show up fine just not the fire

Do you have any mods or CC in your game? If so, does this happen without them?
