Only Families I Play on Reproduce

Everything else works, but this. Obviously, I am talking about story progression. I am looking for a solution other than downloading a mod. I tried posting this on the regular website, but no one helped me. :(
By the time my sim's children are adults, there won't be anyone for their kids to have kids with.. Everyone will either be a randomly a generated family, dead, or an elder.

I suggest just playing without story progression, or every now and then just make a family and add them to your town and continuing with your current household. I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful...

EA story progression is not reliable. Unfortunately turning it off is not reliable without a replacement, either.

If you don't want to get a replacement story progression, you are going to have to keep an eye on things and move families in yourself.

I like the story progression feature, so I guess I have to just download a mod. I installed this game on several other computers and only had the problem one other time. Maybe if I'm lucky, it will work on a guest account. :/
