Found this on the Sims 3 Store Daily Deal a few minutes ago. Not surprisingly, no one has yet clicked to buy this amazing deal! Am monitoring though, to see if anyone does....

It's a very common glitch. i'v seen some like this before. And you would actually pay 115 for that -__-

I like that item. I'd pay as much as $0.00 for it, or in terms of Simpoints, of which I have 0 experience, 0 points.

Well, one hour into the amazing deal, and the dish rack is 2% claimed. :faceslap:

Do you think EA will refund points to the hapless souls who notice and complain?

As pureevil said, it's a common glitch, but you'd think EA would get right on fixing it.

Kinda makes you wonder what kind of person would go ahead and buy it with a huge markup in the price...? More-money-than-sense types? EA shills? Dyslexics?

Why fix it when you can scam innocent people out of their money? :gjob:

Very disheartening to hear that it's a "common glitch." I've never noticed before. Makes me wonder if they are doing it on purpose....

I have a feeling that its probably people who aren't paying any attention. Although you'd think most people would want to know how much of a deal they're getting. Even when I've been wanting something I check...

Yes, it's very common and disheartening to see someone claim it. If the simmer call CS and keep trying until they find a rep that will help them, they can get the points back. A great deal of the reps will say there is no refunds. EA will not fix this, especially if they can drain people that are moving too fast, or don't understand what is written and hit the buy button. Same with the compilations vs. the individual sets. EA is making bank off those purchases, and they will give a hard time to anyone asking for a refund. Happened to me, gifted a set to someone that was gifted the compilation earlier. The individual set doesn't show as purchased if they own the compilation.

Well, this is strange - I just went to have a look, and now it's just showing a 'Download' button with no price - looks like it's now free, then??

ETA: Yes, it is free - I just clicked on Download to see what would happen, and it downloaded (not that I actually even want it anyway, though, but still...)

Esmeralda, that means you have purchased it. Might be you have a set which includes it. :)
This confused me before, too, turns out I had more store content I thought I did (they were putting single items from Barnacle Bay set on deals and I never really noticed I got those when I got the town).

But yeah, I used to check the deals quite often and this is a common oddity, I never tried purchasing anything to see if it really takes the higher price or if it's just a displaying error of sorts. Maybe those 5% were curious?

This, after the very recent "free SimPoints" debacle. With so many glitches, I wonder if EA will reconsider bringing the Store back for TS4.

the truely sad thing about this is, I have the whole kitchen set for this, and while it is very nice, and the plate rack fits quite nicely under a cabinet, like it's supposed to, if you don't want to use the matching cabinets, there is a very good chance that the rack can not be placed. So, if you just have this item, and not the cabinet, it is pretty much useless.

My biggest complaint with the Store is that there are times when an item comes up for sale and the info on the page indicates I don't own the item, when, in fact, I do.

Can't tell you how much I've spent buying something I already own, because the Store says I don't have it yet... Grrrrr.

This item is useless in general. I mean, it is not like any Sim can grab dishes from the rack. So why have it clutter up your virtual house?

DuskTrooper, your Sims only grab dishes from the rack when you aren't looking.

Oh, you can bet the bank that TS4 will have an even bigger, "better", even more intrusive during game play Store. Other than developer time, it's pure profit. No distribution costs (believe me, their servers are already paid for with plenty of excess capacity for something as simple as that Store), no advertising budget. It's like printing money.

And when you get enough folks falling for the 25 SimPoint shelf now for only 115 SimPoints, how could you conceive of dropping such a fiendish revenue source. It just feels so....EA, doesn't it?

I hate that stupid set thing they did for patch 1.36, it's confusing and annoying. Sigh.

I think I read at the official forum that they were working on fixing that. I have read a plethora of complaints about that, especially in regards to gifting people who already own a certain set/item.

While I am surprised to see that people have blindly downloaded such items, I do believe that the "victims" get reimbursed for it. At least, that's what I had read a while ago.

So why have it clutter up your virtual house?I like it because I have something similar on my real kitchen. It's just for looks. The toilet paper is just as "useless", but I still think it gives a nice sense of realism.

And that's about as real as I want my Sims' solid-waste potty experiences to get!

I'm actually thankful for that for obvious reasons. :)

What, you mean they don't use that paper when hidden underneath that big blurry pixel grid? But ... How? ... I mean ... Why? ... Ew! ... I will force them to wash their hands every time now!

Aha, you're right! Just went through my Store download history and find it was part of a kitchen set, 'Bayside', which I've never used (I only got it because it was given away for free at some point and I thought 'okay, why not' and then promptly forgot all about it).

Yes, it is confusing - it would help if they said on the page that it was part of such-and-such set, which they sometimes do, but apparently not always, or maybe just not when it's a Daily Deal!
