Tools or Easier Ways to Convert TS2 Objects to TS3

Is there a tool or easier way to convert Sims 2 objects to Sims 3? I have found tutorials, but they require Milkshape or Blender, which I can't get. If anyone knows an easier way to convert objects, please let me know! If you do, you might find yourself able to download the first bass guitar mod. ;)

No way to do it without a mesh editing application, no. Games are too different to automate it. Blender's free, why can't you get it?

Okay, so I got Blender. Do you have any tutorials for using it? All I could find were Milkshape tutorials. :(
