Hello,
I've read dozens of faq's and tutorials, but they doesent help me a bit. I want to add some hair and eye skins to my game, but it seems that my game has installed in a different way compared to everybody else.
My sims folder looks like this:
Program files/EA GAMES/Sims 2/
CSBin
Support
TSBin
TSData
EAuninstall.exe
eauninstall.ico
filelist.txt
Sims2.ico
Sims2_uninst.exe
Please, i dont know where to put my downloads in order to make them apper in the game. They're all .package files, but i can't fina any download folder anywhere, and i dont know where to create one.
Help please!!

Create a folder in 'The Sims 2' directory in My Documents and name it 'Downloads'. The location should be something like
C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2
Then place all your downloads into this newly created folder.
Read this thread (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=46633) for more info.

It means that some genetics (hair, skin, eye etc.) and clothing items are not showing up in University. The problem has not been resolved at this point.

Has this issue with hair and hair meshes been resolved in University?
No matter what I seem to try these downloads do not appear in my game.

If these are new hair meshes and your download is a sims2pack file, you will have to find the original mesh for it. Seems the package installer won't load the hair meshes a lot of times. You might check where you downloaded it and see if there is a link to the mesh. Not sure tis is your problem, but it is one of the main reasons, hair files don't show in game. Good luck!

Thanks teresa7159! I will try. I did download all the meshes and put them in folders separate from the recolors. The recolors I put in a subfolder. I have downloaded quite a few hair files and want use them.
Thanks again.

you cannot put genetics (Hair, clothing, eyes, skin tones, etc) in a subfolder unless you're installing them into your Saved Sims folder. That might also be why they're not showing up in game. Also, your meshes MUST be in your "My Documents/EA Games/Sims 2/Downloads" root folder, otheriwse the game won't be able to read them correctly.

The meshes can be in subfolders, but not the recolors. I keep all my new meshes in a separate folder and they show up fine.
