All custom content disappeared again?

Hello all! I'm running both sims 2 and university, but for some odd reason recently all my downloads that were not objects or walls/floors disappeared from the game! The first time this happened I knew what was wrong: I accidently fixed stuff I wasn't supposed to on simPE. This time I didn't alter any files, they are seperated from each other according to type (so I don't fix the files I'm not supposed to again) and I can't think of anything else to try. Additionally, if I download any files that aren't objects or walls/floors (or houses) they do not show up at all. That seemed very odd to me. Can anyone help?

make sure you do not have clothes, hair, eyes,makeup etc. in sub folder those things must all be in only the download folder, if this is not the case I don't know.

Make sure Catalog Display Custom Content is enabled in the game options.

Catalog Display Custom Content is enabled in the game options, that was the first thing I checked. Objects, walls, floors, and houses appear fine but no clothes, genetics, cosmetics, or others show up. Theoretically all downloads should work even in subfolders, but I will try to move all downloads in question to the main folder. Thanks for all your help, I'll let you all know if that works!
