Ok, I decided to post in here before I move my sims out and demolish the lot. The problem is that I have a section of floor in my dining room that's unusable. Sims can't walk on it and I can't place anything on it without using moveObjects on. I've removed everything in the vicinity including the floor and walls and nothing helped. Is there anything that will fix this?

It looks like a level problem, I encountered something like that while messing around with the constrainFloorElevation cheat (in fact, each time I didn't even try going to buy or live mode, I just noticed that I couldn't place/remove/change one tile or more).
If that's the case, you should try leveling all your floors, starting from the first, or the ground if you built on a foundation - try first without the cheat, the faulty tiles should appear red.

I had this problem too, but for a different reason. My problem was that there were tombstones under the house. No seriously. LOL I moved the tombstones, fixed the floor and such, then moved the tombstones back. All is fine now.
The reason I mentioned this here is check to see if anything underneath could be blocking, such as a plant, etc.

I tried leveling it and it appeared green like normal. But when I try to raise or lower it or put water on it I get the message "Can't move occupied terrain". I think the game thinks that something is on it.

Yeah, the game thinks something is there. I tried putting a wall there and it said "Can't intersect with other objects".

Hi, are you sure you put nothing on there? I had that happen (the occupied terrain thing) when I tried to get my game EP-ready and overwrote some objects without removing them from the house first. For some I got that flashing blue, and others seemed to have disappeared, but they were just 'invisible' and I wasn't able to put anything on the space they required. The only solution for me was to put the non EP ready object back in the sims folder and to delete it from the houses first.

I also had that problem with the floating teddy bug - one time I managed to delete the floating teddy, but the terrain kept being occupied. I had to quit without saving.

Thanks for everyone's help but it seems like nothing works. It looks like I'm either going to have to bulldoze the house that I've done extensive remodeling on or just let my 8 sims have a 6 chair table in the dining room. If they have to they can always eat outside.

This is just about the only thread that I could find that resembles one of my own problems... Take a look at the screenshot I have attached.

My sims can't walk on it, I can't tile it, and I can't move anything on it unless I use the moveobject cheat. The only thing that I think would've caused this is me moving a sunk-in black hot-tub using the moveobject cheat on top of foundation I had there beforehand.

I'm guessing I'm going to have to doze and rebuild everything...

Oh, another thing, when putting on foundation, the preview box actually extends into the "void", kinda proving that the terrain is actually missing.

I found a solution for it. Get the staythings shrub from simlogical.com so everything stays on the lot when you move the family out. Then move them to the bin and move them back in again. I should have posted that before now. Sorry.
