Grim Reaper!!!!

HELP!!!!!!!!!
the grim reaper is taking over my entire game!
Every family is dissapearing! has anyone else had this problem???
I havent even been able to play the game, this happens when I start
at GAME play, then I created a new family, and I didnt even have a chance
to build them a new house, they just DIE! and the GR comes and leaves
a tomb stone............ Please help

No one has reported of these types of Sim deaths since Nightlife came out. What EP are you reporting and do you have any hacks?

EP ( night life ) unknown if it is a hack........ I did some reading, I think this has something to do with the Vampires, some kind of a curse........
I can't even play this game, due to the Grim Reaper (in nightlife)
Please help me if you can, Any Ideas???????

Uninstall, re-install, disable ALL custom content. Go to your "My Documents\EA Games\Thesims 2", delete "groups.cache". The game should play. Go back and add your custom hair, clothes etc., but no global hacks or game hacks.

It sounds like all your sims became vamps. Vamps die instantly when exposed to the sun, even indirectly.

I had the same problem with the Grim Reaper. I solved it by removing ALL the hacks AND the InSIMinator (EP) SIM Edition from my downloads folder.

I have the same problem!! I thought I was the only unlucky one all my sims on entry of any lot die by a swarm of flys!! I never get a chance to do anything!!

I did take out the "groups.cache" I even disabled custom contents,
I guess I'll take out the globals like suggested.... Thank you all for your comments and help, I really Appreciate it!!!! thank you

i have that exact same problem i even paused and grabbed them and put them into a dark room no windows and nothing but flys

Apparently, that will still kill vamps. They need coffins.

I had the same problem. Every time I entered one of my lots before I was able to do anything all my sims died. I restarted and tried disabling all custom content and that seems to have fixed the problem. Now I guess I have to sort through all my downloads to try to find the ones that are causing problems. It's going to be very long and tedious but oh well. :shrug:

I deleted anything from my downloads folder that I could honestly say I have no idea what that is. I suggest you do the same.

Note- If you find varoius strings of letters and numbers in your downloads folder DELETE THEM!! They appear from no where and whatever they are they screw up your game.

Hi this happened to me (grim reaper ....whole families going up in smoke)....I took everything out and then uninstalled and reinstalled...Then I added my hacks one by one.....For my game it was the insiminator sim EP version that was cause.....everytime I instal this hack I enter a lot and everyone goes poof and the reaper comes....Took this out have added all my other hacks and ......wala.....no problems to date I have just completed all skins re installed and no probs....wish me luck its on to the objects.......

Apparently the insimenator SIM edition causes this problem. Remove it and install the OBJ edition, it's the only one without conflicts (or at least the only one where conflicts haven't been discovered).

this has happened to a few people and they all said that once they took out the InSIMenator that the game worked fine so hopefully that will help if you have the InSIMenator downloaded on your game.

Yep, I restarted my family 3 times and even moved them into another lot and got the same result...I am bummed I didn't check here when it started, I really just thought it was bad luck too! Now I know and will go delete my insimenator...any one know where I can find a tool just like it that won't cause problems?

My sims didn't die, the just didn't move. I evicted them and put newly created sims in the house and they wouldn't move. I had to delete the 2 familys and the house

No ones had problems with the OBJ edition.

I had this happen 3 times in a row last night. I would go into this one particular house and she would act like she was choking and the Grim Reaper would come. This happened 3 Times immediately upon entering the house! I ended up moving her out and into a new house but have not played it yet other than a few minutes and it seemed like it was going to be okay but I am not sure until I play longer. I had the Insimenator before installing NL but took out all hacks before installing the EP accept for the Simcutie Power Espresso Machine.

It's the old insimenator SIM edition, at least all the instances I've seen of this have been because of that. Just update it, Eric has updated it for NL anyway.

I removed the Insimenator before installing NL is there some way that there is something still present from it or could there be something else causing this?

For me it was the insimenator SIM edition .. I removed it then I found a copy
of it in my folder and I removed that. No more problems.....

Apparently the new SIM ver of inseminator doesn't even show up in the game when u put it in ur download foler with customs enabled

Do you have multiple version in at the same time?

That happened to me when I installed NL and I didn't have a chance to play the game. Now my prob is solved. Use the Sims2 Clean Installer and disable all hacks-related items or objects. Your prob is caused by the hacks in your data sets.
