Updated August 8, 2007 - Updated No Ep Version to fix flashing blue problems...I hope. Please realize I do not use the no ep version and can only test in Life Stories. I do believe you may need at least on EP for this to work. If this new version still causes flashing blue problems please let me know.

Update August 4, 2007 - Posted NoEp version only. I had a global setting in the animation portion of this bed that caused problems with bedding on other beds. Please overwrite your previous version. Sorry for the inconvience.

Update July 29, 2007 No EP Version: I change the animation file for the base game (noep) version. I tested it in Life Stories and it no longer makes the bed go flashing blue, but the toddler will not jump on the bed. They will still relax, and go to sleep. The option to jump on the bed is still available but it is non autonomous. This will may enable those that have some EP's to use the jump on bed action.

If you have had problems with the bed please download the noep version.

It is possible that the animations may not work for those that don't have all EP's. One user has reported the same problems I found when I used it with Sim Life Stories. I have no way to test and am dependent on input from users. Please let me know if anyone without EP's is able to get this to work for them.

I have all EP and never play my game without boolprop testingcheatsenabled true.

SimPetStories does not have this cheat at least that I can find. I was able to use the relax and sleep for toddlers with no problem but the jump action caused the bed to flash blue and would not allow the toddler to jump on it.


The animations revision is something I didn't read in any tutorial it's something I totally figured out on my own. I'm personally so much happier with this version. I really hope some of you enjoy it too.

Please only download one version the Pets version also requires University EP. Thanks to bluemoon11 for telling me which version the majestically medieval bed came with.


I use the repository technique for bedding and frame, textures are pulled from maxis items.
Comfort is 8 as is Energy.

It's found under Seating/Beds for $25. I will increase the price in my final version. I'd also appreciate input as to the price you all would like to see thie bed have.

Toddlers can jump on this bed but I did set it to non-autonomous as that's all my toddlers wanted to do, I think it's a little more realistic to see a toddler jumping on a bed as opposed to a child. When toddlers are tired they will go to bed on their own. Toddlers can relax and daydream also.

Please note most of my modifications are for testing purposes at this time. If you find anything that does not work for you please tell me. I will do my best to resolve the issue.

The non EP version has comfort 7 and energy 6. I tested in Life Stories but get an animation error. It does work in Life Pets. If anyone find that it does not work without any EP's please let me know. If you download the non ep version before 3AM EST please redownload. I'm so sorry I forgot to enable the jump on bed for this version. The file is corrected now.

This looks amazing. You and I seem to be on the same wavelength, however much further behind I am from you. I've downloaded all your toddler items and love it when a new one comes out. You are one of my favorite creators and I hope to one day be as good at object making as you have, though by the time I get there I think you will have made all the things I wanted too.

I can't wait to try this. I've been using Atavera's toddler blanket but the kids look so uncomfortable sleeping on the floor. I like the fact that they can daydream and relax also. I've just recently started letting my sims have babies since I found this clock that doesn't allow certain age groups to grow up. I've got a bumper crop now and this is going to be handy. Thank you so much for making this.

One thing I don't get though...


In the second picture it shows a toddler jumping on a a different bed than the medival one.

Is it a hack apply to all beds, or just the medival one and whichever bed you were using in that picture.

PS ..dont worry about people who send bad messages...i have created some paintings and i know the work that goes into them....cant even think about the work that it takes doing new animations like this that u have done.

personally i think delphi should get some ppl working on here that just deals with people who send messages like that...one warning ( if it is neccessary) and then ban from site for a few days ..this if it continues ..ban for life ...it happens with alot of great creators and they end up leaving ..KEEP mod the sims site friendly!!

I will download this as soon as I am on the right computer and of course it lets me, because this is so cute. I have to tell you though, that whenever I see your name as creator for some object my automatic responce is to look at it and most of the time I download them, because I think you have the most amazing items for my toddlers and my toddlers are numberous. I don't know. It's possible I've had problems with them, but I sure don't remember any. I have a bed (made by someone else) which I use all the time, that sticks through the walls quite prominately. I have another bed (made by someone else) which my sims seem to be absorbed by the bed. Both our very good beds so I ignore the animation problems and keepn using them. With yours I don't recall problems. I look foward to many more amazing downloads by you and I have the perfect household to try this out on. Two sisters who share a household with their husbands and one child each, whom I am planning to both have cheescake twins once the children are teens. I'm am so going drive myself crazy, but I survived a household with six toddlers. I can survive this. This bed will be awesome. Thank you for all the items you have made.

Testing... I have The Sims 2 Nightlife, University, and OFB, and the Holiday pack.
Hmm, the game loads and the object is fine until you start doing things with it. The toddler can't get up onto the bed to jump on it, but if it tries to relax the bed starts flashing blue and nothing happens. The bed continues flashing and does not stop, even when other interactions are used on it. The adult can relax and everything just fine. That's how mine worked.

wow, you really do some terrific creations for the little ones,(which are my favorite sims). thank you for your imagination, your creativity, time and energy all of which makes playing the game much more fun and interesting. i have almost everything youve created in my game and havent had any problems.

I've been testing this bed for hours now and I've found no problems with it at all. I downloaded the Pets version. I say no problems, my knee hurts now from sitting in the same position for too long because I got a bit addicted

I am honestly really impressed with this creation. Like a lot of people have already said, your stuff is always awesome. Each of my toddlers always uses at least one of your creations in their daily lives.

I'd love to see a whole set to match this bed. I'm quite petty when it comes to things matching. Won't stop me from using this masterpiece though.

What did you have in mind for matching items? The bed itself is a maxis bed, just resized and higher comfort/energy than the original. I keep forgetting to check what the actualy bed is called but I think it was country something.

I really wanted to use the country bed that came with seasons but was afraid not many would want it with it requiring seasons ep. It's one of my favorite sets that maxis put out.

If it's at all possible, could you make some single beds like this? I think it's awesome to have toddlers sleep in toddler beds, but a single bed would be more realistic.

Yes you can use no ep version even though you have pets. The no ep version should work for all combinations of EP installed. I will try to get one that does not require university but works for pets as soon as I can get to it.

To me no question is stupid if you don't know the answer it's something you don't know is all. So many are afraid to ask things for fear of someone else thinking they are stupid when in fact the person that thinks someone else is stupid for asking a question is the stupid one.

We can't learn if we don't ask questions.

Hi!

First, I love this concept.

However, I have base game only, and have found problems with this bed. Adults sleep on it okay, but the toddler won't. When directed to, he leaps into the air (presumably this is the missing animation you warned us about) and then sits on the floor while the bed flashes blue.

I hope there is some way to fix it. I do expect to get EP's soon, but I don't want Pets, so I will be needing the no-EP version still. I can live with the missing animation, but the flashing and not sleeping is an issue, of course.

Is it possible to alter a normal double bed so the toddler can sleep there? It would be nice if they could sleep with Mum in a real-sized bed too.

First I want to say thank you so very much for reporting your findings. I really appreciate it. I'm also sorry it's not working for you.

I do think you will need some of the ep's, problem is I'm not sure which ones. I have no way of testing except through the life stories and pet stories. All actions work in pet stories except the jump action, I also found that when they relax they lay back rather than in a sitting position, which may be a seasons animation too.

I did pull the animations in simpe with just the base game checked, but I have no way of knowing it this actually works for puling animation strings.

i have nightlife and open for business... and i downloaded this and it does not work in my game, it crashed it at the loading of the game.

You must have gotten the pets version. If you want to try again please be sure to get the no ep version.

First, allow me to add that the animation is wonderfully done and the bed makes a very nice decorative peice for toddler rooms. So I thank you for this.

However, I like a few others have been experiencing the strange flashing everytime my sims interact with it. I have tried both the "Pets EP" and the "No EP" versions.

I will try re-downloading these files again and give you my result soon.



Perhaps this may be a problem for users getting the same results as me. I will try this as well when I reinstall the package files.

Oh, it works! The toddler floating up toward the bed looks kinda funny, but I suppose it can't be helped. ^_^ Yay!

Oh! I just realized, whether you use it regularly or with testingcheats, jumping on the bed does not work. Relaxing and sleeping does, though.

This bed turned blue in my game and kept blinking and every time the toddlers tried to use it, they just stopped and fell down. Did anyone else experience a problem similar to this?

Did you download the newest version? I tested it in Life Stories and it works ok except for the jumping on the bed. You do need most of the EP's for this option to work and run with boolprop testingcheatsenabled true.

I'm afraid in the future I have to only create items for full EP's installation setting.

Rebecah, I assume you know about Numenor's basegame start-up mod, which should allow you to make and test things without EPs.

I haven't tried Rebecah's latest version, as far as I can remember. Maybe I should , and see if it works for me.

No I don't know about his base game start-up mod. I may check into it, but I really don't have a personal need for base game items myself.

I do try to do no ep for the most part but I found that too many things don't work for base game so I get a little frustrated with it. Thanks so much for taking the time to tell me about Numenors base game starter. I do know I've had so a few complaints for base game versions on my beds that's why I did this as a pets version.

This is to cool, but alas in my game i still get the flasing blue thingy........i have two EP's, NL and UNI. when i downloaded the one for EP it crashed my game, so i took that out and downloaded the non EP, and then i get the blue thingy.

Do you mean Life something AND Pets?

Or can I download this if I have Pets?

If you have pets you would want the pet version. Sims Life Stories and Sims Pet Stories are other EA games that these items are compatible with.

I know I'm late in the game on testing this bed, but I have finally done it. The toddler's sleeping positions have some errors as far as how their body lays on the bed and even during their side sleeping position, they will hang off of the bed. Also, the toddlers sleep with their eyes wide open. I took 3 screen shots for you.

It is actually better to have the toddlers on the right side of the bed. The eyes open is from the EA animations, and actually we currently can't do facial animations with MilkShape. Sorry!

I am working on this to make the bedding work. I do have a version the the bedding is working but it isn't quite right.

rebecah, this bed is so wonderful!! I made myself a household with 8 toddlers just to play with it :-)
Stupid thing is - the toddlers refuse to share the bed with their sibblings and I just can't figure out how to raise their relationships to the point that they will. Would You know how to go about it or just what the threshold relationship would be? For now I'm simply juggling their energy levels because I flatly refuse to let go of these beds! :-)

Thank you for your response. Being a Mac user the insimenator doesn't work for me. However, I just found a way to make them friends using the toy box. Since the first one to play will sit right in front of the box I either move the box (move_objects on) or make them drop the first toy and go for a second one. Two toddlers playing with two toys from the same toy box at the same time will boost their relationship like a charm :-) Doesn't seem to work for more than two at a time though.

Now I got to run and try that 2 toddler sofa of yours!

Yeah... I tried to have my toddler sleep on that, and the game wouldn't let him and it started glowing blue. Has that happened to anyone else?

The adults can use it, though.
