For me it seems its weather the first time a lot loads (but not always). I enter game goes to household A, hey pronto some rain. Sim A from that household goes to his shop, yes we get some more rain. Rotation pulls in and household B in on. Some rain yes? You get the idea.
The weather also does not seem to last very long. I get the feel its like the game goes: "and now some rain.....wait Im not supposed to do this!" rain stops.
So aparently in my game this need time to kick in. It is noticeable when I first start the game, but settles down with time. If I play one whole day its much less frequent towards the evening, up to the point of not happening at all.
Its not very annoying, but I wonder what makes it so timesensitive.

Edit! Hah, I believe its the change of season culprit even for me. So change of season seems to be the tricky part.

This is like the same thing like uninstall Sims 2 4 seasons...

Not really. I bought Seasons because I needed to support my programs, but I never wanted weather. I could uninstall Seasons, but then I wouldn't get the seasonal benefits, the growable plants, all of the furniture and clothing, etc.

So, this is like an improved Seasons.

I use this all the time but I've been noticing that if i play a premade hood standalone I don't get weather. However in a mega hood when I switch to one of the shopping districts containing a diff hood I'll get weather. Like I played Pleasantview for a full sim week, switched over to a family in Belladonna Cove and it immediately began to rain. I know this is a global mod so is it the case that it has to reassert itself in each subhood or is it only viewing the one main hood as the one affected by no weather? And alas my one other main reason for using this goes unsolved as it seems this doesn't also stop the pesky atrociously evil witch from making it rain on community lots. I was hoping that those were connected somehow, but I guess not.

Does the weather eventually stop in the subhood?

My solution for the witch is to ban her from community lots.

See post # 28.

Read the thread and you'll find the answer! Hint: read the post immediately above yours.

ClareCityStyle 18th Mar 2012 09:46 PM

Why buy seasons then? ?

Why do so many people spam this thread with the same silly question, without bothering to read the answer that I've given 3 times on this page alone? Think about everything that came with Seasons. Subtract weather. That's your answer.

I have a new policy. I am not going to respond to this question again. If someone feels the need to ask me this question, they are going on my ignore list. This will significantly lessen your chances of getting help from me in the future, even for other uploads such as the Clean Installer. Consider yourself warned.

Sims99Fanatic 27th Apr 2012 08:01 AM

I would download, and think it's a perfect idea, but I like snow. More flavors would be awesome.

Mootilda 27th Apr 2012 03:59 PM

Unfortunately, that's not a "flavor"; that's a complete rewrite from scratch. This mod turns off the weather system. "Nothing but snow" requires the weather system to be turned on.

Sims99Fanatic 30th Apr 2012 04:12 AM

Thank you for responding. It is a shame that it can't be done by you (or anyone) to pick and choose the weather. I guess some things are still impossible. I just really hate rain particularly but love snow (probably because all my life nothing but rain, no snow).

I don't believe that it's impossible. I just believe that it requires a completely different approach.

Congratulations! You are now on my ignore list. In the future, please attempt to acquaint yourself with a thread before you post.

I really would love this... I think EA over did the weather effects.... If it were not for the objects and activities I would never install this pack... My sims are stuck in the house more then ever... its sad... but I am afraid to install this for it might just not work right.. no offense... what a great idea tho... I still might try it.. for I cannot stand the weather in this game... thanks so much..

BeckyBoo8 7th Aug 2012 08:07 PM

Hm, isn't there an aspiration reward for this?

Mootilda 7th Aug 2012 08:42 PM

Yes, I believe that there is an aspiration reward which allows your sims to turn off weather on individual lots. Obviously, that is much less automatic than this mod.

kpkeila 30th Sep 2012 01:04 AM

What's the point of Seasons if you have this?

Congratulations! By ignoring this entire thread and asking the same question which has been answered any number of times, you have won a coveted place on my ignore list.

Tatatouille 25th May 2013 01:12 AM

I have read the thread (because I sincerely do not want to be put on Mootilda's ignore list, lol) but I did not see anyone ask this question and I just wanted to get clarification before installing.
I understand that this mod turns off the weather (like rain, lightning & hail), but this mod does not turn off the actual temperature. So that means I would still have to worry about over exposure to sun and cold, right?
I ask because I once had a child taken away for letting him play outside too long (heat stroke). I am definitely going to use this mod, because I hate rain and hate snow even more.

Mootilda 25th May 2013 04:02 AM

It's only that one question that I'm tired of being asked ("How is this different from uninstalling Seasons?"). It just seems silly that people keep asking the same question, even when the post immediately above theirs answers the question.

Otherwise, I'm actually a pretty nice person and you can ask me just about anything.

Yes, this mod only handles the weather events, but not the temperature. I have another mod which makes sure that your sims don't have to worry about their temperature. Here's the link:
