Something Borrowed

To finish my Heritage Bridal Collection, I picked back up on the family heirloom theme. Something "borrowed" was interpreted as the ring of a family matriarch, passed down to the new bride.

The Engagement Ring



After much debate in chat, it was determined that the engagement ring is typically the one with the diamond. I don't much fancy the EA ring, because it's not sparkly enough for me. I wanted something simple (yet shiny) to grace my sims' finger.

The Wedding Band

For some reason EA decided that females couldn't wear wedding bands, which I think is kinda silly.



So, I converted the male wedding band over to females.

The Stacked Rings



Annnnddd, bringing it all home, we have the stacked rings. Your new bride can display both her wedding ring and her engagement ring at the same time.

All rings are available for YA through elder, and have two channels (with the exception of the band, which only has one). The stacked rings are slaved to one another, meaning that they share the same texture.

Each ring comes with two versions, a studded one and a "plain" one. Plain simply means that it does not have a studded diamond overlay.

I love these rings. Especially the stacked ones. They reminded me of the set my mother has.

No they are in the ring category, and the nails are in the glove category.

I was just manually putting on wedding rings to their respective owners (how annoying that you have to go through all of the outfits to put rings on) and I thought, how boring is the selection? I really love this! I also really hate that they didn't bring over the feature from sims 2, that once they are engaged or married they automatically have a ring on their hand. Ooooh I am engaged look at the big sparkly nothing on my hand! Ahhhh I'm married now let me admire my empty ring finger! So annoying!

When I use these these rings in CAS my sims disappear. Beautiful and kills me that I can't use them.

This has never happened to me with these rings.

I am confused as to why everyone is saying that female sims do not have wedding bands... I see them in the accessories tab just fine, and I have put them on my femsims in the past... The reason I came looking for rings though is because the current selection is awful; they're big, bulky, and look stupid, both on males AND females. If there's any way you can make the single band available for men, that would be awesome. I know there's already a band for men, but it looks terrible, like they've wrapped duck tape around their finger. But yours are BEAUTIFUL, exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!

Are these default replacements for the actual engagement/wedding ring you get in game? If not, is there a mod that can make the one you get "invisible"?

I don't think sims actually get a ring when they get engaged? When the little animation plays a fake ring shows up as a prop, but doesn't actually get applied to the sim.
