Update 2014/12/20 This mod is fine to use with the December patch.

Here's an attempt to try to tone down the overly harsh Ask to Leave interaction. It seemed to me like the Sim asking the other to leave was annoyed and the guest looked embarrassed to have overstayed their welcome. Wouldn't have been so bad if it was based on relationship or emotion but it was the same for me every time. Seemed really bi-polar. Thanks for coming over for dinner. Now get off my property! We should be BFFs, like forever! Now get off my property! I love you so much! Be my girlfriend? Now get off my property!

This is a simple XML tuning mod that replaces the Ask to Leave interaction's animation with that used for the Good-Bye interaction you get when having a conversation off of the home lot. Normally, Ask To Leave plays an animation called Soc_Generic_NT_Complain_Succeed_basic, seems very ornery. The new animation played is Soc_Greet_NT_Wave_basic, which is the one used for Good-bye. Just smile and wave.

This mod changes the following XML resource and will conflict with other mods that also change this resource:

S4_E882D22F_00000000_00000000000032CA

This mod was built using Game Version 1.0.797.20, it should be compatible with all versions.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that was bothered buy the ask to leave animation. Like others had mentioned I would just wait for the sim to leave on their own.
If it was tied to an emotion it would have a been a good animation if the sim was angry or had a mean trait.

This is a great mod. I would be perfect if it could also make sure that ask to leave is always available. Not even sure if that is possible

EA changed the goodbye interaction a bit (added a wave anim) but I tested it in the game and it works fine! They'll double wave goodbye if you ask to leave but it's cute. It seems even more friendly now!
When a party ends now it's fun to see all the guests say bbye and wave ^^

"Thanks for coming over for dinner. Now get off my property! We should be BFFs, like forever! Now get off my property! I love you so much! Be my girlfriend? Now get off my property!"
I laughed way too hard at this.

Thank you for this mod!

I wanted to slap my Sim the very first time I asked someone to leave.
I thought he might have just not had a good time with the person.

There's one new test in the xml with GTW, looks as for owned retail lots. I would update the file.

Hey, does this mod work as of the latest patch (1.7.62.1020)?

Thanks in advance

Attached is a version created from 1.13. The older version looks like it would cause some misbehaviour in social groups (I haven't tested that, but since it's a very straightforward mod, updating was easier than testing =P).

how does this mod affect the person being asked to leave to react?
do they still act so embarrassed about it?

They never acted embarrassed in my game. What this does is exactly what it says in the description: "Replaces the Ask to Leave interaction's animation with that used for the Good-Bye interaction".
