I've had my first Sim baby born at St. Catherine's College in a private residence. Baby Jasmine is now a child attending private school. Although a conflict showed in the HCDU with the private school bill fix and the uni-school-bus mod, both work as they should. All households are charged the school fee and the school bus arrives at the Uni household on schedule every day to take Jasmine to school. I'm glad this worked out because I didn't want to choose. I've used that mod to increase the private school fee in my game. I've played this type of scenario quite often in my game; I'm glad that I can now do it effortlessly with your mods working in the back ground. I also used the Sim Blender to move in an adult Sim - they also age daily at 6 p.m. (I'm using the 1 day aging) and the car pool arrives for them daily.

I'm wondering if this will work for pets also. I tried having a pet live in a private Uni residence a few years ago. Nothing really bad happened, but things got a bit quirky in the main hood when one of the pets died.

@LilSister, thank you so much for the feedback, it's very informative and helpful. I didn't know conflicting mods could both work fine - sounds like a miracle =)
As for pets in Uni, I have a dedicated folder for it in my projects folder I've collected some game files there and plan on fiddling with them some time in the future. Will see what comes out of it.

What do you mean by "things got a bit quirky"?

The HCDU will show possible conflicts between mods that modify the same global procedure. It doesn't always mean that the mods can't or won't work together. Testing is the only true way to find out whether or not there is a "real" conflict.

I'm not sure if what happened was really related to me having a pet living in a college residential lot or if it was a game glitch. I moved the Sims pet dog in with them - it was a private residence on the Uni campus. The dog was aging every day - the house that I used was built in my main hood so the lot aging controllers allowed the dog to age each day. Back in the main hood a cat died and I used the option to move the grave to the cemetery. The grave never showed up at the cemetary, it somehow vanished. I restored a back up of my game and the same thing happened again. I went through hell and high water to get that grave back. I was told that what I experienced was a glitch, but I attributed it to me having the dog in Uni because I had never had that happen before. However, since then I've had that same glitch happened again which is why I no longer use the option to move graves. I put them in the Sims inventory and have them take it the cemetery.

This works at the moment. I have a young adult pregnant at university - and she's living in a dorm. Her pregnancy is progressing ok. Thanks so much for this mod - I have been wanting a mod like this for ages...

Default Additional related mod
Remember I said the game will free a dorm room for a baby, causing random townie to move out? You can get a fix for that.
Rooms in dorms will only be reserved for types of sims we want.
It's under "Uni dorm rooms" header.

@simguru1player, thank you for feedback.
@LilSister, I started playing with pets in uni and loving it so far. A dog lives in dorm and has a job. Thank you for the info on your experience with pets, though. You've given me an idea to test pet death, which is important.

I love having my Sims being able to have their pets at college. Pet's in dorms are still not allowed in my game, as it goes against university rules After so many years have passed, and having the same situation happen again in a different game with a human adult Sim (with no pets in college neighborhood), I'm inclined to think the grave glitch is unrelated to having a pet in University. As I stated I no longer have any issues with graves because of how I handle them. I play custom neighborhoods and I usually don't create a downtown. I've been wondering if somehow having a downtown affects the transport of graves when using the move grave option. Just a thought.

May I ask what mod do you use for having pets in uni? I've made something for myself, but if there is more established mod around, I won't post mine. It's pretty small and easy anyway.

Please post your mod. I've been using the Sim Blender to teleport my Sims pets from home after they have move to college. I'd love to have a mod that allowed Sims to take their pets to college with them or at least allowed them to buy a pet after they have moved. Your mod will be the first of it's kind ... you will be the trail blazer in this area.

So, My Sim Jade has just graduated and she move out of her campus home with her daughter and her fiancé. Her fiancé worked full time and between Jade's money and his they had $58,574 in their household funds. When she moved out their household funds were reduced to $19,329. I was able to fix this in Simpe, but I don't understand why this happened. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? Normally when Sims move out, they do so with all of their household funds; or perhaps I've been playing with the "no 20K handout" for so long that I don't remember how things operate without the mod. Also, I’m still using the YA-moveout-of-college-AL.

Since your mod makes it possible, I was also thinking of aging my YA to adult after they graduate, before returning back to the main hood so they can arrive in the clothes that I choose for them to wear. I play with body shapes and I hate having them arrive from college in the game's hideous fashion choices.

LilSister, thanks.
I did the math and it appears the game divided Jade's funds by 3, giving her one third, but not leaving the other two thirds to the rest of family (if I understood you correctly).
I'll test funds more closely in a new iteration of moving mod and make sure this doesn't happen.

Just to clarify, all three Sims moved out together - they are now in the Sim Bin together, and yes their funds were reduced to $19,329 from $58,574. BTW there was never a conflict shown between the "no 20K handout" and "YA-moveout-of-college-AL." I ran the HCDU again just to be sure.

Yeah, I guessed so. The game doesn't expect sims to move out of college in a bunch.
I overlooked the funds rules for this case. I'll fix it.

Just wanted to let you know that I had a Sim move out of the Greek House with his girlfriend to another home on campus and the "no 20K handout" worked as it should. So the money issue was only with the graduating Sim and her family returning to the main hood.

Was meaning to post new thread, but decided to update this one, after all.
New additions:
YA-move-out-of-college - improved - more features and more user-friendly dialog
Uni-dorm-rooms - new - makes having non-YAs in dorms better
See description for details.

Special thanks to LilSister

Hey, @Lamare. Great work on the mod - I don't play YA's in the university subhoods but I've always wanted the option for some YAs to start families in the main hood.

I did notice something though - I'm not sure if it's just me or it actually won't work this way, but I noticed that the option to Try for Baby doesn't appear for same-sex YA couples with Preg For All Genders. I only used the YA-pregnancy-anyplayable-AL file and the pregnancies came to term just fine without anything else since they're in the main hood anyway, but I had to use JSW's bouquet to have the option to try for a baby (and even then it was only available for female-female couples and not male-male). The only way I was able to have children via male-male couples was to force impregnate them with the SimBlender. Try for Baby appears and works with the opposite-sex couples.

I had some difficulty testing satisfying the want for child with same sex YA couples since none of them would roll the want at all, so I decided to see if it'd work regardless of the want. I tried flagging an engaged same-sex couple as married and had them adopt a baby to see how it'd go but the sim who called the social worker was the only one who was designated as the baby's parent. I'm not sure if this is because YAs weren't intended to have families of their own; I should test this with straight couples the next time I have access to my game.

Another work-around I'm planning to try is to have teen couples married, age them up into YAs, and try to adopt a child; perhaps this time it'll set both sims as the parents.

No errors popped up during the entire time.

I saw on the description that I have mods that override the same globals though, so I was expecting conflicts. I'll put the HCDU reports under a spoiler:

Edit: I'm not sure if this makes sense, but maybe part of the conflict in terms of rolling child wants also has to do with Baby Wants Fix and Havechildnotadopt (both found in the same site as Preg For All Genders) making same sex couples tend to want children instead of adopting and removes the distinction between the two anyway (so that adopting satisfies the have baby want and vice-versa). Perhaps this confuses the system as with default game behavior, most same-sex couples would want to adopt children instead, and these mods all affect the same wants.

It kind of made sense to me and since the description lists it as a possible conflict, I tried it with the Uni-adoption mod and it did show up as a conflict.

I'll try changing the load order or removing the mods to see if the features work when I get some time off, though I also understand if they're not meant to work together. I just thought it was possible.

Hey, @Sketching

YA-pregnancy conflicts with Preg_For_All_Genders in a way that only one of them will work, because they both alter the "Pregnancy - Can We Get Pregnant?" procedure and the game uses the version that loads last. The solution would be to merge features of two mods into one, so there would be one "Pregnancy - Can We Get Pregnant?" BHAV with all the wanted changes in it. But don't count on me doing it, I'd like it to remain old-fashioned =)

As for wants, sims with same sex gender preference are supposed to roll a want to adopt a child and are prevented from wanting to have a child (as in give birth). And vice versa for straight sims. My mods leave this rule intact and only remove ban on young adults. Whatever wfsanity and Havechildnotadopt do to "CT - Test - Have Child" and "CT - Test - Adopt Child" BHAVs, by loading my mods after them you override that.
I'm thinking of uploading new versions that will allow both wants for sims with any gender preference. After all, gay people may want to have biological children and straight people may want to adopt. It'll help your sims as well, so at least one conflict will be resolved.

Thank you, @Lamare. I'd actually like to try merging them myself, but I don't know where to start. Off to the tutorial section I go then.

I'll give changing the load orders a go, but having both wants present in any gender preference would be great.

My game must be so confused since I'm almost asking for the impossible here.

@Sketching, start with opening both "Pregnancy - Can We Get Pregnant?" BHAVs and comparing them to each other. They're kinda long and messy, so it might take you a while to read them, but nothing impossible here Good luck.
I find Echo's tutorials on BHAVs very good.

Thank you so much, @Lamare. I'll go read Echo's BHAV tutorial and work this out. We all have to start somewhere.

What a fantastic mod! Thank you so much, @lamare -- I am very much looking forward to putting this in my game as I have a BACC neighborhood with a ton of YAs in college. Because I am an evil storyteller my sims are terrible at birth control and are constantly getting accidentally pregnant. When I installed ACR and hilarity ensued in the dorms, I was sorry that automatic accidental pregnancies weren't possible. I had been rolling a die and making them drop out of college if they rolled a pregnancy, but this opens up a plethora of more options! Thank you!

I also really appreciate reading the discussion here with your detailed explanations of which mods do or don't conflict, and why. I'm learning a lot about mods and how they work. So thanks for sharing your knowledge as well!!

Thanks
Seeing this thread reminded me of my promise to Sketching to make versions with both parenting and adoption wants allowed for straight and gay sims. I tested them, but it doesn't seem to affect anything - sims are still having wants deemed appropriate for their gender preference. I guess, it gets determined in want trees package (or whatever it's called) that is whole another story. So, no point in uploading the versions I made, and I don't know how to edit wants directly.

Just to confirm this conflicts with Intee I take it?

Just deciding whether to take Inteen out of my game or not (haven't had a pregnant teen in a very long while).

Thanks in advance.

Just want to make sure I'm understanding how the YA-move-out-of-college mod works. They do not have to move out three days after they graduate, right? In other words, you could have a sim stay on campus for post-graduate study (if you're the roleplaying type) if you wanted?
