This is an update to simmythesim's Simulation Lag Fix for the latest version.

As simmythesim's post description of what it does:

"This mod alters the game's simulation so that sim autonomy does not cause massive simulation lag in instances where there are many autonomy requests.

This should eliminate, or at the very least, alleviate, the following problems:
sims head bobbing, sims doing nothing for a few hours, time slowing down on Speed 3, and time going back to the past.

Mod Explanation

This seems rather basic, but here's a video showing a scientist experimenting in GTW without the mod...

here it is in game working as of 8-26-18:

Everything runs much more frequently now, preventing the "bobbing head" effect. I haven't experienced any time rolling-back since I made the mod!

Resources
This mod overrides the following python functions:
time_service.TimeService.start
time_service.TimeService.update

INSTALLATION

Unzip the mod files into your mods folder. Make sure script mods and custom content is enabled in your game!

My bad I tossed the readout, next time it shows up I will send it to you. I thing maybe the injector.py needs to be updated also.

First I recommend you to compress injector.py to .pyc and put them together or the .pyc only in the file, raw code of the injector will not work properly as it needs to be set as administrator file and access the internal process manager of the game so compressing it will get rid of the exception message.

If the exception message is still popping up, it has to do with the other set of codes that was modified by the user or it has to do with the game version support.

Last case is if you are using MCCC, this is caused by MCCC exception dumper, it has a lot of bugs and needs to be modified by deaderpool "MCCC author", just ignore the exception message.

Thanks AshenSeaced

I do not use MCCC, was never anything but a headache to me. In the script right now the is an injector.py and injector.pyc , along with the SimulationLagFix.py and SimulationLagFix.pyo

So if I understand you correctly I should recompile the injector.py (the injector.pyc is old) and SimulationLagFix.py to .pyc and leave only the 2 .pyc files in the folder?

I know this has been covered, but I've had this exact same issue. The mod actually fixes the lag for eating/preparing meals/etc, but when it comes to trash maintenance and using the bathroom, there's something about those actions that just doesn't work for the mod. It took my butler forever to pick up trash after I ordered him to, and I had a Sim pee themselves because I was playing in a house of 6 and none of them would go to the bathroom when prompted.

I don't think it's an issue with the mod, because the mod DOES fix some things-- but I think with how buggy Sims 4 is, putting anything in that straightens one thing out is bound to screw up another.

---

Keep up the good work! When this mod does work for me, it's beautiful.

This mod works fine as intended, if you use MCCC, dump it. That mod messes with so many other mods it is crazy. I have no problem with butler, use the toilet or throw away trash, or anything else, it is working great, you may need to play with the mil-sec setting to find what works for your machine-set up.

Further instruction to fix the mod on your end is in page 7-8. Follow the mini-easy-steps that I posted in page 7 and expanded by Morphar in page 8.

Additional Instruction:
B1. Open the .package with S4S or S4PE
B2. Select the tuning with the instance of 2BE55516548A9522 named time_service
B3. Edit the XML data and change the value inside <T n="enabled"> with your exact value
B4. Save the file and its ready to test.

Note: All changes must be apply to both package and script.

all this talk about compressing pyo to pyc really gave me headache. some of us are merely computer noobs and aren't familiar with python editor.

duderocks used to fix this mess. I miss that dude.

All the hoods are merely the same, so I made ones where all the Sims aren't straight.

For your headache:
The word compressing used is actually compiling.
The .py file is the actual script and is a readable text file with the extension .py.
To edit the text in a .py file you just need an editor like notepad or wordpad that is already on you computer.
When you compile the .py file with this command in Command Tool or Power Shell:
C:\python37\python -O -m py_compile Simulationlagfix.py
...you will get as a result a .pyo and a .pyc file.
pyc: compiled py
pyo: compiled and optimized py

I don¨t think this mod will fix my gigantic lag at all. If you check the video in the original mod you see that it makes a small differense
but that is a small lag compared to what I have. The action queue is just locked.

Please excuse me as I'm still new to all this.
I followed the instructions about how to change the value from 17 to 13 and stuff.
Question is, would it be necessary to compile the .py file in Python? Because I just skipped that part.

Thanks for making this mod! i've had great results with this in the past but as my family grows (6 sims 2 pets) and the number of CC's to correct en spice up the game, it seems the standard value of this fix reduces some lag but not enough to prevent my vampires from burning to death because they stand at the edge of the lot after work and i don't notice them! They just stand there happy to burn to a crisp and if i do notice them, it takes about 2 to 5 real min for them to proces my command to enter the house.

how should i go about finding the right value's for my system? I tried the 17 and 13 and i'm not noticing much difference between the two so i have no idea if i should go up or down.
thanks in advance for any feedback!

I found out that in my case with very long pauses was caused by me having set MaxSimsInZone in MC too high for my computers performance. I had it set to 40 and the bars was always full and sims waiting outside. Many sims but very slow party.

Quote:
Population_MaxSimsInZone Sets the maximum number of Sims that are allowed on a lot within the game. This can be set higher for people with higher-end machines, or lowered for those that have problems with the game lagging on public lots. The setting allows between 5 and 200 Sims. EA Default is 20.

I still have it set to the default. The standing on the edge of the lot is happening at "Home" when they return from work and stuff. I have a pretty capable machine.

Stop spamming with update requests. The creator is probably aware of this.

I've played without this and there was only one session that was ungodly laggy, but it was pretty bad. If the creator ever decides to update this I will be forever grateful.
