  • Updated the career coding for the 1.44.77 patch.

Description
This mod adds a janitor NPC to community lots, similar to the ones in TS1. They will do all the cleaning and repairing (repairing is prioritized over cleaning). Useful if you're like me, who often let Sims spend days on community lots without leaving.

Janitors are randomly chosen from any unplayed, unemployed Sims in your game (the higher their handiness skill is, the more likely they'll be chosen; if no Sims are eligibile, random townies will be generated).

They will work an 8-hour shift:

8AM-4PM: female janitor
4PM-12AM: male janitor
12AM-8AM: female or male janitor

The purpose of gender-specific janitors is to make sure the bathrooms locked behind gender doors are always clean (since they can't get into restrooms for the opposite gender).

The mod currently works for the following venue types:

Bar
Park
Gym
Nightclub
Pool
Cafe
Spa
Karaoke Bar
Arts Center
Library
Museum
Lounge
National Park
Center Park (Myshuno Meadows)

Installation
To install, unzip the file and place the .ts4script file and the .package file in your mods folder.
Script mods need to be enabled for it to work.

Conflicts
The mod is implemented through script injection so it should not conflict with other mods.

Basic Download and Install Instructions:
1. Download: Click the File tab to see the download link. Click the link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.
Read the upload description for installation instructions. If nothing else is specified, do the following:
No Extraction Required (Script Mods):
1. Cut and paste the .zip file(s) into your Mods folder
  • Windows XP: Documents and Settings\(Current User Account)\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\
  • Windows Vista/7/8/8.1: Users\(Current User Account)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\
Script mods need to be placed directly in \Mods or one level below that (e.g. \Mods\Scripts) – sub-folders nested any deeper won’t work.
Extraction Required (Everything Else):
1. Use WinRAR (Windows) to extract the .package file(s) from the .rar or .zip file(s).
2. Cut and paste the .package file(s) into your Mods folder
  • Windows XP: Documents and Settings\(Current User Account)\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\

Need more information?
  • Anyone can use both .rar and .zip files easily! On Windows, use WinRAR.
  • If you don't have a Mods folder, just make one.
  • Mod still not working? Make sure you have script mods enabled

I've found an issue, this mod doesn't let me go to festivals. It sends me straight to the scenario selection page.

This mod doesn't have anything to do with festivals (and I'm not sure what you mean by "scenario selection page"). I can visit anything festivals just fine with this mod installed.

Do you mean it goes back to the world maps? I've been having this issue and it's mod related since I disabled cc and mods everything worked fine. This is one of the mods on my list to make sure it's not causing me issues. For me, two lots behave as if the requirements aren't filled (retail lot with register for example) and bounced me back to the world map selections when I tried to visit in live mode. I've finally been able to go into build mode twice in a row for that lot during my mod testings so that's an improvement from not being able to load that lot since it would've sent me bouncing back the second time. It's incredibly annoying on its own but the fact that I spent a lot of time customizing one of the troublesome lots makes it even more annoying.

Edit: turned out it was a bad cc clutter.

Now to make this mod perfect, we need a career mod to be made so we can make our guy/gal a janitor and go with them on call outs to go fix things - what you think? Any modders out there wanting to take up the challenge?

I think you need to update this mod so vampires can't be janitors during the day. Your mod just killed one of my vampires.

The proper way seems to be to add

<V t="can_be_outside" />

to the filter files, just like you will find in the vanilla tuning filter_Bartender_Bar (109543, or 0x000000000001abe7 in hex). That should stop non-daywalker vampires (and, if added in the future, other sims for whom being outside is harmful) from taking the job.

I had a problem with being dumped back to world selection screen after trying to travel to the romance festival. I tracked it down to this mod being the cause.

Those jumping back to world selection screen issues are caused by script errors. If you have lastException.txt generated in TS4 folder you can post it here & I'll take a look.

Ok, I made a new one just now, with the error while no other mods were installed. It should be attached.

This mod creates a lastexception.txt file in my game every time I open it.
