This is a featured upload! It showcases the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
It's been a little over a year in the making but I've finally finished this project. Right around the time the achievement stickers came out I finally decided to commit to making a full neighborhood as an upload for you all. Luckily inspiration struck at roughly the same time. I was driving around with my (now) ex-boyfriend, Kalimos, (don't worry, it was an amicable split, we still talk and I'll likely still use him as my male model for my photoshoots) when we could not for the life of us, find the street we were looking for. The trees and shrubs were so overgrown on the street signs that eventually out of exasperation, he exclaimed, "I can't see a darn thing, that could be freaking West Weasels for all I know." (The language was a tad more colorful, but I don't believe it to be appropriate here.) With an awesome name as West Weasels, I just had to come up with something equally awesome, hopefully, you'll agree that I did.

West Weasels is a quaint and cozy little town. I wanted to make it as extra cutesy as possible without going overboard. This fairytale neighborhood was originally intended as a home for all our supernatural sims to live in harmony together. I see it as a fun place for them to live and to come back to after their work day as storybook creatures is over. I see them as actors of sorts. Like the old Looney Toons where the wolf and the sheep dog chase each other on the clock, but when they punch out they are friends, or like the Disney movie Halloweentown, lots of monsters and creatures all living together like no one is different or strange. Then again, this is just how I see it for my game; I purposely left the town vanilla enough for everyone to make up their own story to go with it.

The quaint little town of West Weasels is a perfect place to slow down. Everyone here is friendly, and while some of them have quirks, no one minds.

There are plenty of affordable cute houses here. Seven of the ten on this street can be purchased straight out of pocket. The other homes in this neighborhood are at various price points.

There are plenty of things to do and places to shop at in West Weasels. We have a town square that is a great place to meet people, the city park is a lovely place to take in the outside. We also have an ice rink, a community center with swimming pool, and a row of shops; toys, baked goods, gifts, antiques, and a hair salon.

The old marina features a restaurant, a fish market, and a game hall. The hermit's hut is perfect for an old seadog, afordable and out of the way.

I hope you enjoy playing with this hood as much as I enjoyed making it.
-Phae

P.S. Its a lot of work to get a project this big completed and uploaded, but I know its all worth it when I get to read all your comments. They really brighten my day, knowing that I've made people happy with my work. Thank you.

Known Issues: Whoops! The skating rink bathroom is missing its door! Be sure to add one in before you send simmies there or they'll be doing the potty dance the entire time they are there! I've fixed this in the separate download for the skate rink if you don't trust your building skills enough to add the black expensive wooden door.

Custom Content Included
Neighborhood Objects by Criquette
- Marina fishingboat single, Marina sailboat single, Marina wood pier short
- Walkway side, Walkway stairs right
Gable Ornament by Marina
- 2tiles - 8tiles
Stairs, Animation, and Ladder by Marvine
Slot Enable Package Countertop Mod by Numenor
Roof Trim Default, and Tire Swing by Phaenoh

Install Instructions:
Download all three files, you need both Part 1 and 2 of the hood and the Downloads archive. Remove the MTS_Phaenoh_(numbers) from their names and unrar them together. Don't forget to download the CC. Trust me you will want the CC I've chosen. I've tried very hard to keep the CC to a bare minimum because I know there are so many of us out there who don't like to use CC or don't like to download it in houses.

Place the folder N327 (number chosen for my birthday, corny maybe but I like it) in your Neighborhoods folder. Place the files from the downloads into your download folder. Start up the game and you should see West Weasels likely at the end of your neighborhoods list and it's custom thumbnail.

This is a multi-part download:

The files you need to install this as a complete neighborhood are in the main post, if you want only individual houses, you can download them from the comments.

You are simply uncapable of making dull Sims stuff, Phaenoh! Everything you create, screams for being downloaded. Thank you for the hard work you put into this project and for sharing it with us
West Weasels is so adorable and cozy looking, I already was making up my mind who will live where while downloading the lots and then it struck me - will I be able to add West Weasels as a sub-neighbourhood somehow? Once I saw it and reviewed how complete it was, with all the necessary business lots, I had this idea of adding West Weasels as a shopping district.

edit: I've just read HP's tutorial on merging neighbourhoods and my brain exploded. I better stick to playing West Weasels as it is, not a shopping district.

it's not, I was getting the error as well, but then I figured it out - just pick the second Rar'ed part from Browse menu (WestWeasels_N327.part2.rar) and click Ok to complete the process.

This is such a cute nbh, I really need it. I feel like a kid in a candy store. Such lovely colors, such great design. I keep staring at the pics with a goofy smile on my face. I think I'm going to move my True Blood characters to West Weasels. Thank you!

It is so funny (to me) that I see this today. I just "found" all these custom hairs I had DL'ed for some colorful skins yesterday, that I planned on making a colorful fairy world with, and whadyaknow, here is a perfect 'hood to put 'em all in! I will edit this post and let you know more once I've installed this beautiful town.
PS I was so excited to see that I actually could get this..I have everything you used. You know how rare that is for me? Well, you didn't, but now you do!

So it is super cute! I loaded it up with crazy colored sims and they are each in a house the same color as them. What luck you made the houses like that! I think you may have had seasons, too, but it doesn't really affect the hood for me. Thanks bunches, I will love my time there!

This is beautiful Phaenoh! It makes me want to play TS2 again really badly, i think you definitely pulled of the cutesy charm with this neighborhood, the houses are so pretty and i love how you have grouped together those houses at the back etc., it is really special

It's ok, we all laugh-snort occasionally!

I really love this lot, but I have a huge problem. When I try to open up part 1, I get a message about a volume that I need. And when i try to open part 2, it says I need to open a previous volume (I guess that's part 1) But since i can't open part 1 I can't get part 2. I really want this hood! Please help!

Hmm, now it seems that I made this work. But I'm not sure. I got a message that said that I need a volume to extract Lot67, but i have Lot67 in my file...

I love this neighborhood! Unfortunately my computer crashed yesterday. I installed my computer and then the game again, everything works find except this neighborhood won't show up! I tried to download it again but still it won't show. Any ideas?

I have the same problem as Emmsi. It won't unrar due to something about volume. I've never heard of this before. It's too bad, as I really like this 'hood. I've tried to unrar them all at once, as well as separately, but it's the same: the volume problem. If anyone knows what to do, I'd really appreciate it.

I'm fairly sure you need to unrar them together. Put them all into a folder together and right click 'extract here', you NEED WinRAR to do this. Aside from that, I don't really know what to tell you.

To unrar multi-part files you need to rename them. When uploaded each file gets a unique identifier so you need to remove that. Rename to: WestWeasels_N327.part1.rar and WestWeasels_N327.part2.rar, then unrar them.

Thanks HL! I've not dealt with multi-rar downloads before. I've edited my post to reflect your instructions.

Okay, they unrar just fine now, with the renaming. Can't wait to play it! I can't imagine how much work went into making this. Congratulations on all your hard work. *smiles*
Just a thought... maybe you should put in bold that renaming statement in your edit, just to be sure folks don't miss it, as it's not a usual thing to do to a rar file.
