Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
SHODAN, the terrifying evil Artificial Intelligence construct from the System Shock game series, having once escaped Citadel Station, has now also escaped the Von Braun and manifested herself in humanoid form. No longer confined to a computer screen, she can now go anywhere she feels like wreaking havoc. And she has decided to go to Sunset Valley – make sure your Sims have plenty of cybernetic modules, in order to try to defeat her!

Creating this Sim was an adventure in hair-tearing trial and error, and I hope you’ll find her a good representation. Her clothing/‘skin’ remains the same for all categories, except that in Athletic I added a pair of girly training shoes as I thought it looked cute and funny.

Traits: Insane, Evil, Ambitious, Mean Spirited, Computer Whiz. She will be found in the Adult (not Young Adult) sim bin in CAS.

'Wash that oven well, Insect! I want it so shiny that I can see my magnificent face reflected in it, after I finish enjoying my waffles of evil.'

Even terrifying supervillainesses can fall upon hard times in the Credit Crunch:

ISSUES: While bathing, she changes to default green skin and black hair with white highlights (I have no idea why hair colour would change when bathing??), but changes back automatically when finished. Her face is made with the ‘tiger’ costume mask, which DOES stay on in the bath. If you should happen to remove the mask, it will default back to the ‘tiger’ colours when you re-apply it. If so, go into the colour editing screen for the mask and set the three colours to white. Similar applies if you happen to change her hair - in the hair colour screen, set her custom hair's main colour to black and the rest to white.

As well as a .sim file, three package files are also included which you need to install in Mods/Packages in order for her clothes, face and hair to show up in your game.

INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:

Unzip the .zip file, and you'll have four files, one of which file ends in .sim. Simply copy the .sim file to your 'Saved Sims' folder which is in your Documents folder under Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\SavedSims, then copy the three .package files to your Mods\Packages folder.

If you don't have a Mods\Packages folder and/or don't know how to install .package files, please see full instructions here: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php...g_Package_Files

Thanks for looking and I hope you'll find SHODAN an interesting addition to your game!

Custom Content by Me:
- SHODAN face

~Thank you to the MTS mods for their helpful suggestions for improving my previous submission of this Sim!

MTS_SHODAN_ByEsmeraldaF.zip | Description: Updated 3/1/10, just a few categorisation issues - clothes should now appear in CAS and are also enabled for Elder 4.28 MB 10,546 22nd Jul 2009
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the sim to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.
2. Select the .sim file you got from extracting.
3. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\SavedSims folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game, enter Create-a-Sim, and save a sim to the sim bin to create this folder, rather than doing so manually. After that you can close the game and put the .sim file in SavedSims
4. Once the .sim file is in SavedSims, you can load the game, and look for your sim in the premade sims bin in Create-a-Sim.

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Thank you for your comments, everyone - I hope you'll enjoy trying out this strange creation in your game! I love how this Sim turned out and it was a real labour of love, as SHODAN is my favourite female game villainness of all time and one of my very favourite characters all round.

It's not a skin, it's just clothing and costume makeup, with extra large alpha masks for more coverage!

I'm actually not very familiar with the Halo series, so had to Google to find out what she looks like, but I see that she'd be a good unusual Sim. I only Sim characters that I know really well, so probably wouldn't Sim her myself, but I'd be interested to see someone else do it!

The green tinge to the eyeballs wasn't intentional - I can only guess the green colour bled across from the hair or the mask!

Yes! You don't need any particular default skin or eyes for this Sim, as the whole skin is covered with recolours, and the eyes will still be yellow but just have a very slightly different look, hardly noticeable. I've installed her on my other PC which has no default replacement skins or eyes, and she looks the same.

Just wanted to make sure, the .zip has 3 .package files & 1 .sim file.... these all go in the Packages folder?

Also, really, really well done on this.

Only the three package files go in the Packages folder, not the .sim file - the .sim file goes in the SavedSims folder.

I can't see her in CAS. I've put the *.package files in the folder where i put the mods, and the *sim file in savedsims folder (in My documents), but i can only see the textures in CAS. Could it be because of the update to v 1.2.7

The first thing that comes to mind, is a problem another member had with finding another of my Sims in CAS - the other member was looking in the Young Adult sim bin rather than the Adult bin where all my Sims go (except Chucky, of course!). TS3 can be confusing because CAS defaults to the Young Adult bin and not the Adult bin like TS2 does - it certainly confused me at first. So, please check whether you're looking in the Young Adult or Adult bin. I think I'd better add to my upload threads which bin to look in!

Wow this is epic, but could I ask a tiny favour, could you make a male version? if it's not too hard or at least tell me how to get the mask and clothing and hair in the male category. I'd like one of each XD.

Glad you like the Sim! I wouldn't be making a male version myself, but if you want to try, you'd need to open each of the three custom packages with a program like Sims 3 Package Explorer, and extract the DDS files. Then use Delphy's CAS Texture Unitool to re-import the DDS files for each item (hair, mask, clothes - you need to do each one separately) and go into the Categories tab and enable each item as 'Male', then save as a new package for each item. It's quite a bit of work. Also, the face sculpt is not easy to do - you have to sculpt the face to fit the mask - and the man will be wearing a ladies' costume, which may look rather girly!
