The Shiba Inu; Independent, aloof, intelligent, clean, quiet, adventurous.
Definitely not a breed for just anyone, as they have many qualities that turn off they typical dog person, but are the same qualities that us Shiba fanciers find so endearing.
Although described as a 'cat-like' dog due to their independence and aloofness, they do have a rugged side and love to be outdoors whether simply zooming around (and digging up) a large yard, or hiking through the mountains, as they were originally bred for hunting everything from birds to wild boar- and even sometimes deer- in the Japanese brushwood & mountains. The name Shiba Inu loosely translates to 'Little Brushwood Dog' and they are the smallest of the native breeds of Japan, where they are considered a national treasure along with their larger cousin the Akita.
If you're a dog person who cannot resist the constant cuddling and willingness to please, and easiness to train of a Golden Retriever, you will probably want to avoid owning a Shiba Inu. Or if you love to take your dog out to the park or the woods, but find 'leashes' annoying and unnecessary to hold, then you may want to avoid owning a Shiba as they are runners and need to be leashed at all times even when hiking (there are very few exceptions to this rule with the breed).
Sharing your home with a Shiba is like a cross between a wild animal, a cat, and a rebellious & too-smart-for his-own-good child.
But it's a challenge and adventure that us Shiba enthusiasts cherish & enjoy every moment of

The Shiba Inu that came with The Sims 2 Pets did not look all that much like a Shiba at all.
Here I have made my own- still not the greatest, but the best I was able to do considering the cutomizing limitations.

I have made 4 coat colors that the breed comes in:
Red, Black & Tan, Sesame, & Cream

I hope you enjoy adding this wonderful breed into your Sims family
