What does this program do?

This program (Similar to my Sims2Pack Multi-Installer) allows you to bulk extract multiple Sims 3 Pack files in a folder, extracting them to another folder (it doesn't have to be Mods\Packages, it could be a staging area).

Please note! This is NOT a replacement for the Launcher. It will NOT give extracted packages the custom content icon. It is PURELY meant to extract Sims3Packs so that you may put them in your Mods\Packages folder, or subfolders thereof.

How do I install this?

You don't.

Just extract and run.

What do I need to run this?

You need .NET Framework 2.0. It has been writted and tested on Vista x32. No testing has been performed on Vista or XP x64. No testing has been performed in Mono.

How do I use this?

Run the program.
Select the folder with all your Sims3Pack files using the first "browse" button.
Select the folder where you want to extract the files to using the second "browse" button.
Click Install.

Thats it.

I used this and nothing appears in my game!

Please note!

I will only answer questions in this thread directly related to the actual program. I will not answer questions asking how to install packages - we have FAQs for that!

Changelog

Changes:
- Added back in Clean Names, but with disclaimer - it only works on Sims 3 Packs with one package in them
- Removed error / information label to a status bar
- Added minimise button
- Renamed program to Sims3Pack Extractor, just to clarify what it actually does

aneleh Test Subject Join Date: Dec 2007 Posts: 6	Hello! It won�t install. I have .net 2.0. I dl the rar file, extract it to own folder, run the exe file, follow instructions to step three and....nothing. Or....am I not supposed to see the program?? If so, how can I delete it if it�s not working/what I want?

Once step 3 runs you will see .package files in the destination folder. If you get a specific error, please post that, but "nothing" is not an error message.

I've just tried it out and it's very fast and easy - no more need for the Sims 3 Launcher that takes forever to install things. The extracted package file is given a name of random numbers and letters, which I just change to a meaningful name so that I know what each package is. I'd been using a program called 3Viewer for this purpose, but yours is much quicker and easier. THANKS so much.

It runs so damn slowly and take a lot of disk space of my C drives whenever it installs anything (not to mention the fact that I can't take my free space back when I uninstall something)

Sand_Ce Test Subject Join Date: Jun 2009 Posts: 26	thanx again, Delphy =) I can't figure out the "rename file on save" :s if I click, I see no "rename option" showing up, and the file is extracted but sort of corrupted (actually, a non recognized file). If I just extract without trying to rename, the file is a package (and that's good ^.^). How does it work, please ?
