You need to pick the lot up in the neighborhood view and place it down in an appropriate corner location. |

Hi, not sure if this is the place to ask, basically I tried to do something with the lotadjuster (add road), I didn't back up my neighborhood because it wasn't a big deal for me if the lot or neighborhood became corrupted, however, I didn't expect using the lot adjuster for this would corrupt my WHOLE game. Basically when I try to start the game, a error "message" appears, except there's nothing written, just the button "OK". Do you know if this issue is addressed somewhere? Thanks! |

I doubt that the LotAdjuster caused your error. However, your problem is the reason that you should always backup before running the LotAdjuster. If you backup before running, then you can always restore from your backup if something goes wrong. Luckily, the LotAdjuster makes a backup of both your neighborhood and lot packages when it runs. First, backup your save game in case this doesn't work. Next, delete your neighborhood and lot packages and rename the associated BKP files to have the exact names (including file extensions) of the files that you deleted. |

Thanks Mootilda! This program is great. I have used it multiple times and It love it. Maybe I finish a lot an decide that I really need more room on one side so I go to your program and use it! I also had a lot that was unlevel and I was able to increase the size of it and level the lot, then shrink it down to size and I had a perfectly level lot. Thanks a lot! |

Thank you Mootilda, Now I can re-size some of my lots that seem to small, I can't believe I did not download this a long time ago. Your one of my favorite creators on my long list of creators, I can't believe I didn't add you sooner. I may try to re-size some of my Zelda lots, I made a Gerudo Valley and Lon Lon Ranch, I will make backups of them so in case I mess them up I have backup. Thanks again

I recently downloaded this program and really enjoyed resizing my lots without having to move my families out. An excellent program! And also to confirm the question whether it works on Windows 7 or not. The program does work on Windows 7. I have the Enterprise version. Thanks again. |

| st0rm420 | All I needed was some more room on my lot as I had run out of it and I wanted a pool in my backyard. This worked great. Just didn't realize how big 60x60 was lol. Though I should have expected it to be double the lot I was using as it was already a 30x30. But hey I can't complain about to much room. Regardless worked flawlessly for me and I am VERY pleased I didn't have to move my sims to a new lot. Thank you very much. |

Mootilda, I am having a problem with lots after I have adjusted or moved them. This is in a custom hood, I built the terrain in SC4. This is a lot, the school, that I removed a road (it's a plasticbox house, it had two roads, one in front one on left side): ![]() You can see the school, which I am viewing from the schoolhouse NEXT to it, has a crack in it, which I can see through to beneath the lot. The when I switch to the school lot and look at the schoolhouse lot next door to it, the same problem: ![]() This lot, the schoolhouse, I moved into place behind the school because it would not place in hood view for some reason I don't understand. Any help for correcting this odd cracks at the lot edges? Also, note this cracks do not show up when I am in the lot. I've tried moving the lot to the lot bin and back out, I've tried leveling the lot terrain. And the hood terrain around the lot, in fact in all build-able areas is totally flat. |

I believe that I'd actually have to examine your hood and lots to understand what's happening. Would it be possible to zip up your neighborhood folder and share it, along with the names of the lots in question? |

Sure! I renamed the lots for your convenience, they are called Problem Lot #1, #2, or #3, with a note of what I did to them in LA. Will keep checking thread throughout the day. |

Although you believe that the lot and neighborhood terrain are both completely flat, that 'blue tear' indicates that they do not match. There are two Advanced Options which are particularly helpful when you are unable to reattach the lot to the neighborhood by picking it up and placing it down again, Lot Edges and Keep Current Lot Elevation. When I examine your neighborhood in SimPE, I find that the Lot Descriptions for your lots are all at different elevations. For example: 4-5 Harbor Lane 314.8506 Crumplebottom's 314.8125 middle 314.5519 Problem Lot #1 314.625 Problem Lot #2 314.8506 Problem Lot #3 314.625 This would explain the blue tears between lots, and between the lots and the roads. There are two different options for resolving this problem. You should be able to fix it by running the LotAdjuster again and choosing the Advanced Option Lot Edges = Flat and unchecking "Keep Current Lot Elevation". This should flatten the lot edges and set each lot to the elevation of the associated road. This will only work if the neighborhood terrain is truly flat. The other option is to use SimPE to set all of the lot elevations (Z-value) to the same (correct) value, which is the elevation of the road. This will not fix any uneven lot edges, but will ensure that the lots are all at exactly the same elevation. When you edit and save the lots, it should also fix any incongruities in the hood terrain. |

Yep, those are all lots I moved or shrunk with LA. So now I know to uncheck elevation and flatten when I make changes for lots in this hood. I am in game now and the problem lots are fixed. Huzzah! Question: What do the other two options of the Lot Edges feature do? And when you change Lot Edges, must you always uncheck elevation so they "take"? Also, while I have you on the line as it were, I am having a lot of problems placing lots in this hood. Many of them won't place. I wonder if it is because I made the hood in SC4 and then used the FT cheat a LOT to flatten and lower the terrain? Is there anything I can do in SimPE or LA or Hood Replace to make this less likely and less frustrating? LA is a fantastic program and has helped me so much in building the custom hood I envisioned. Thanks so much. |

Lot Edges = Neighborhood will set the lot edges to match the neighborhood terrain in the current location. This is helpful when you are moving lots to the side of a hill, or beside a river. Lot Edges = Smooth will keep the lot edges exactly as they are, but will make sure that they follow the rules for lot edges. When you shrink a lot, the edges may be "bumpier" than the game allows. This just makes sure that they are "smooth" between each vertex. If you leave "keep current lot elevation" checked, then the lot elevation will not be changed by the LotAdjuster. In general, we find that it's the best option, even when modifying the lot edges, unless you need the lot elevation to change because you're moving a lot around in the neighborhood using the LA. The LotAdjuster tries its best, but sometimes it cannot determine the correct elevation for a lot. If this occurs, you can always fix the elevation using SimPE. I'm not sure about the best way to ensure that the neighborhood terrain is perfectly flat. Personally, I use the SC4Terraformer to set the exact elevation for all vertices in the SC4 file. I would think that the FreeTime cheat would work just fine. Based on your mismatched Lot Description elevations, though, it seems that your neighborhood is not completely flat. This tends to cause problems when you are trying to place lots close together. I can only suggest that you ensure that your terrain is flat and use the tricks that we've discussed to ensure that the lots are placed properly. |

What about those blue lines in the lot borders that appear when the lot is not perfectly fixed on the map? Can they be fixed without altering the map? Note that my map is not flat. |

Well, I'm completely confused with LA's options. I want to enlarge a lot (but the neighborhood's map is not flat) Options Keep current lot elevation Lot Edges = Flat I want to move a lot a around and delete the road (I want the lot to follow neighborhood's map) Options Move Lot [eg. back 2] Add Remove roads [tick out the box] Lot Edges = Neighborhood If I want to enlarge the lot and move it? |

If you want to enlarge and move the lot away from the road, then you should enlarge it first, pick it up and place it down again to regenerate the lot imposter, then move it. If you're concerned about hurting the neighborhood terrain when enlarging, set Lot Edges to Neighborhood while you're doing the enlarge. The options are basically independent and can be chosen based on your need. However, when enlarging or shrinking a lot, you will always need to allow the game to regenerate the lot imposter. |

I want to build a lot in steep areas, I don't care about having a road as the lot is only for decorative purposes. My concept is to place an 1x1 lot so that there will be only minor changes to the map, and then enlarge it to the size I need. So picking up and placing down the lot is not an option. ![]() ![]() The problem comes when I'm about to move the lot; it simply doesn't follow the neighborhood's map. ![]() |

It's impossible to tell what you are doing wrong from those pictures. Perhaps you should attach your neighborhood and lot, along with the entire set of parameters that you specify for the LotAdjuster at each stage. I will only need your neighborhood package and your lot package; no need for character files, snapshots, or any of the other lots. You can just take a snapshot of each of the LotAdjuster screens to show me the exact parameters that you're using. |

Hey Mootilda, i'm trying to make corner lots but when I expand the lot over the side road it disappears. That is when I load the lot there is a big patch of grass where the road should be. I've tried adding the road and expanding by 10 or expanding first, then loading the lot, saving, then trying to add the road. There is two lots on the other side of the road. Is that ok? I'm supposed to tick regenerate roads? Or can I only make a corner lot by moving the lot across the road rather than expanding it? |

Ticking to regenerate the roads may help, but picking up the lot and placing it down again in an appropriate spot will always fix the problem. |
