This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.

Ever so trendy in the most fashionable of monastaries from centuries gone by was the monks tonsure haircut.

Tonsuring is shaving part (or all) of the head. This was done in advance of becoming a priest or monk. "Tonsure" is the part that has been shaved away. For those in holy orders, it symbolized renouncing worldly things, such as vanity and fashion. The type on our monkly Sim here, would be considered the "Roman" type, where all of the hair from the crown of the head is sheared away, leaving a crown-like fringe of hair.

With no hair gel required, no pesky fly-away windswept locks, and guaranteed no bed-head hair.

With no tresses covering ones shining pate, thank goodness there was at least a nice hood to tuck into in those drafty chapels and cells!

This hairstyle is provided in four colors, for what little hair there is to color...blond, brown, red, and black (plus one grey for those aging monks - linked to the blond hair). It will accomodate adult, young adult, and elderly noggins. It is geneticised, color-binned, eyebrow matched, and leaves no hairy mess on the lavatory top.

Ok, so my husband thought that maybe the tonsure/bald spot was too big. But then I showed him the medieval drawing and that the Sim version looked correct. My response to him, maybe a monks tonsure size is in direct proportion to their holiness?

Either way Im happy to have this hair for my game!

I'm taking a break from Sim building at the moment since I already shared the Gwrych Project (45 lots total). I'm actually doing the final things to make my neighborhood COMPLETELY medieval! At any rate...

Personally, I find the tonsure as a hair-style is so unattractive! I can't imagine any modern man pulling that style off! But then, I realized that it's not about me, as my Medieval monks need to be honoured properly with this wonderful mesh!

Thanks Aligeth...Great work (as always)! Now...I'm off to download your Robin Hood trio FINALLY!

Thanks! This is just the thing for my Saint sims. Where did you get the robe? I want to make a picture of Saint Francis of Assisi for my sims game and I need to make a Saint Francis sim. This hairsyle is just the thing. Where can I find the robe?
