Here is my entry for the Medieval/Renaissance Challenge 2010.
Clothiers and Seamstresses from the period ranged from all walks of life, whether they were poor and worked out of necessity to support themselves, or whether members of the nobility in need of financial support while their husbands were away.
Here are some original patterns with which you can design clothes, bedding, wallpaper, floors, etc.
For floors, walls, and large furniture, I recommend you use the larger patterns. For everything else, including clothes, small furniture, and the like, the Small patterns are your best bet.
Of course, each of us is and individual, and you may feel free to express yourself and your Sims in any way you like with these patterns.
They are all found in the MISC. category, and they all have 4 layers/channels. The 4th layer/channel is the texture element, so you may choose to make the patterns have a lot, or a little texture.
I apologize for the graininess on some of the pictures. I had too much texture on for those patterns.
In a couple of the pictures I have used Maylin's wonderful medieval windows found here.
Also, the following are the links to the artists whose brushes I used to make these patterns from DeviantArt.com :
