I have been wanting to make this kinda world for some time now, and I finally managed to kick myself to do it.

I like to build, and I like to have easy and fast access on building when I feel like it.
Builder's Island has 13 residential lots, some of them are the most common sizes, and some are smaller than Sims 3 base game provides. I add those with future builders in mind, now that people are getting used to CAW, we are getting many nice worlds to play in.

I could have made just a flat world with the lots, and maybe roads, but I thought that would be really boring. So this little island has some landscaping, so that you could enjoy nice surroundings while you build, and get nice screenshots.

I didn't paint on the lots at all, so they are all base green. I know that world-terrainpaint doesn't travel with the house when it's relocated, so houses made in this world should look nice on any other they are later placed.


Uses for this world:
- To be able to go building fast
- To be able to go to CAS fast
- To be able to test objects fast when meshing

Does not suit playing very well, since there are no spawners, and there are only very few effects. You can of course play on it, but it won't be as fun as in gaming purposes made world.

There are 4 layers...

There are 13 residential lots, sizes are...
10x10
10x15
15x10
15x15 x2
20x15 x2

20x30

40x40

All the lots are flat and empty.
I didn't change any lot values, so they cost the same as they would in any EA made world.


Performance:
Map size: tiny
Sims can go: everywhere (world is not ment for playing)
Camera can go: everywhere
Terrainpaints used: 6 types

The world loads in about 4 seconds from main menu to play ready. It might be faster or slower, depending on your computer's stats.

Note:
For some reason some of the lots claim to be different size than they are when choosing them. First I thought I had made mistakes when laying them, but when I count the squares in game, they were correct. So I guess this is just a minor clitch. (Happens sometimes with Sunset valley too)

Note:
The world was made with Sims 3 basegame and WA installed, with patch 2.6.11.
This world SHOULD be base game compatible (with latest basegame patch which is 1.10.something I think). If it doesn't work for base game only, please make a comment or PM me and I'll edit the requirements.

I had a request to add the .world file of the world so that people with lower patch could use this too.

There are now 2 rars available for download, download only 1!!

Builder's Island.rar has the sims3pack of the world.
Download it if you have base game with patch 1.10 or higher, or WA/HELS with patches 2.6.11/3.2 or higher

Builder's Island for lower patch.rar has the .world file of the world.
Download it only if you have base game only, patched lower than 1.8.

HOW TO INSTALL .world file:

Extract the Builder's Island.world to:

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Worlds

((C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Worlds with 64 bit OS))


IF you have happened to install sims 3 to non-default path,
put the file to GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Worlds in the directory you have installed the game.


This is all new to me, that you can use the world like this too, but if you have questions on installing the .world file I'll try to answer and help the best way I can.
