In TS2, pose boxes made it easier to take pictures and make machinima by 'freezing' fidgety sims in a desired position. This object is a TS3 version, but it works a little differently. This object plays any installed pose (EA or custom) by name. So, instead of having individual boxes for each pose set, pose sets can be placed in packages and installed, then played by the Pose Player by typing in the pose name.
If you have the object in the game, but can't use it due to the "No interactions available" issue, take a good long look at Game Help:Installing Sims 3 Package Files/Old Way to New Way If you post in the comments concerning this issue, it will be assumed you didn't read this and you comment will be ignored.
To use the Pose Player, simply buy it in the Decorations/Miscellaneous section (at the starving artist price of $1) and place anywhere on the lot. With the sim you want to pose selected, click on the Pose Player and select 'Pose by Name'. In the text pop up, type in the name of the desired pose, i.e. a_jockPose_x, and click the check mark or press Enter. The sim will do the pose. They will stay posed until the interaction is canceled. To pose another sim, select them and repeat the process, or choose 'Use current pose' to use the same pose again.
Installed Poses list
If a creator has correctly created his pose package to be found by the Pose Player, the poses can be chosen from a list by choosing 'Select Pose from List'. The list will include all pose packages created for this option, with a thumbnail, the creator's name, and a description of the pose. Only pose packages created to be found by the pose player will be in this list. If you have a pose package installed that does not show up in the list, ask the package's creator to update their package for this option. There is an additional interaction to add a pose from this list to MyList.
Pose creators: To get you pose package to show up in the list, download the Pose Pack Creator My List.
You also can have your own customizable list of favorite poses. Just select 'My Pose' from the pie menu, then select 'Add to My List' and type in a pose name. The pose is added to a list that can be saved with the game, and the test pop up asks for another pose. From there you can either enter another pose, or just close the pop up. Once you have a pose in 'My List', you have access to the following options:
Pose from My List - Lets you choose a pose from My List to play.
Add Current Pose to My List - Adds the currently loaded pose to My List, useful if you've played a pose via 'Pose by Name' and want to add it to the list.
Delete from My List - Lets you select a pose from My List to delete.
Clear My List - - Clears all poses from My List
Amiphire, this means that the script didn't get loaded. I'm wondering if your framework is not up to date. If it isn't many scripted objects will have problems in your game. Please check this out and see if it's the issue. To find out more about fixing your framework look in this thread here:
Thank you very much! There were some framework problems but it's fixed now. I haven't tried playing the game yet and using the pose player yet but I really hope it works now If not then I'll be asking for more help lol. Thanks again!
I was having this 'No interaction Issue' and the name problem aswell, Reading other posts i found out I didn't have the "D3dx9_31.dll" file in My "Bin", So i went and looked for a downloadable one, and found one here: http://simpedia.sims2cri.com/index....3dx9_31.dll_eng . I extracted the file and copied it into every single EP and SP "Bin" file and went into my game to see if it made a difference, and it did :D!!. Hopefully this will help some others out, as this is an amazing mod!
I have run the framework installer as suggested....It tells me that it cannot find the resource cfg. or the Mod/Packages folder....As I said above I do not have Ambitions so my Mod/Packages is set up in ProgramFiles/EAgames/Sims3 ......My package files do not show up in the game if under MyDocuments/EAgames/Sims3....what now?
Since your problem is a framework issue I suggest you post about it in the Help section. You can get more help there than you will in a downloads thread for an object completely unrelated to your problem
this works perfect for my custom poses! <3!
Once again THANK YOU!
There are no tutorials on creating custom pose boxes anywhere! Since you know how to create custom poses, can't you create some for the public, like a lot of users in Sims2.
I could really use some for couples. If you could that would be really awesome!!! :D
Daggerls, to the best of my knowledge, the Pose Player has been tested with all the EP's and is compatible. The game I'm using it in myself has all expansions except for Ambitions and it has HELS. It's patched with the LN patch.
Violeta and Daggerls, if you're getting the "no interactions available" message the issue is most likely that you don't have your game set up correctly. Simply posting the "no interactions available" message provides no real information which would allow someone to help you fix that and, in any case, since the problem isn't the Pose Player, this isn't the thread to be posting it in anyway. What both of you need to do is make sure your game is set up correctly. I've posted a link to Delphy's thread. Granthes launcher tool can also help with the issue and can be found here:
Only one problem I am having. I'm curious, from the animations list, the only ones that work for me are the animations with an '_x or _y' after it. For example, if I try 'a2a_soc_interview_pose_notebook', it doesn't work. Is this supposed to happen?
OK using S3PE hubby and I extracted all the animations and got them into a spreadsheet. There are over 9000 of them o_O. To make it easier to find the ones you need we added a filter so you can select categories of animations. Ignore the ___'s after the last letter though. They are part of putting them all into one line.
