A large collection of English names from medieval sources to give your historical neighborhoods a more authentic feel. I was unhappy with the file I originally created for my medieval game, so I did some research at the wonderful Academy of St. Gabriel site and came up with these lists of names that I thought I’d share with everyone. I can't guarantee that your townies will have normal, pretty names, but I can guarantee they'll be 100% medieval!
There are 136 male first names, 125 female first names, and a whopping 1,200 last names (because I never know when to stop) so there should be plenty of variety in your townies’ names. They range from the obscure to the everyday, and should provide a nice flavor to your medieval hoods. Some samples: If you’ve never used a mod like this, simply unzip the Live.package and place it in your downloads folder. Do not rename it, or the game will not recognize it for what it is. Remember, you can only have one of this type of default replacement in your game at one time. If you’ve been using another naming mod, please remove it from the downloads folder first! Once the file is in place, all newly spawned townies and NPCs will be named using my lists of names. Old townies and NPCs will still keep their old names. If, at a later date, you grow tired of my file, or find another you like better, simply delete it, and the game will go back to normal. I’ve tested this mod in a Base Game environment, as well as my usual game (all EP’s), and it works fine for me. Please let me know if you have any problems, though. ********* Custom Content in the Screenshots: All screenshots taken on StephSims' wonderful lots: Gwrych Barony Manor and A Small Kingdom pt. 3, Village 2 . Go there for further object questions. NPC Clothing comes from sunni9676’s Default Replacement sets: Medieval NPC Replacements: Taverns & Alehouses , and Medieval NPC Replacements: Commoners. Playable Sim (in the background of guard shot) is wearing sunni9676’s Medieval Tunic Dress in green. Face Templates by Pooklet at Garden of Shadows. Makeup is CatOfEvilGenius’ Default Replacements: Eyeshadow / Eyeliner Super Pack, and DEFAULT REPLACE base game lipsticks. Skintones are Hysterical Paroxysm’s Natural Beauty: Idolatry of Flesh Skintones Hairstyles are by the now-defunct Helga Sims (h091 & h066), & by Almighty Hat : Bath Knot, Sweet Sister, & Poet . Eyecolors are from the Well-Dressed Sim . To townify them like mine, you’ll need to follow this (easy) tutorial . Vehicles are by hexameter , I used his Service Taxi Replacements and NPC-Pickup Gardener Replacement for the screenshots. ~rugrat0ne 188 people have said thanks to rugrat0ne for this download.
