For this custom career to show up in game, you'll need Twallan's Careers Mod
Requested by wideopeneyes. *Updates* 23/03/13 - Fixed the missing Take It Easy tone. 11/01/13 - Updated to include Portuguese translation 01/09/12 - Updated to include Finnish translation 23/08/12 - Updated to include German translation 24/07/12 - Updated to include Polish translation 11/07/12 - Updated to include Czech translation 10/07/12 - Updated Spanish Mexican translation 07/07/12 - Updated to include Spanish translation 20/06/12 - Updated to include Swedish translation 19/06/12 - Updated to include Italian and French translations Translations Czech ~ Thanks to emerald_dream! Italian ~ Thanks Serenity16! French ~ Thanks Malobali! Swedish ~ Thanks LimeSims3! Spanish ~ Thanks monypm! Polish ~ Thanks ShimiChibi! German ~ Thanks Moon803! Finnish ~ Thanks viera! Portuguese ~ Thanks Giovanna_Pires! You only need to download the MissyHissy_ComicArtistCareer file. The Language Strings file is for translators. Only the Base game is needed for this career to work. This was made with patch 1.33. I don't know if it works with patch levels below 1.33 but I don't see why it shouldn't. It works with 1.34-1.50. The career is in English but I'll include instructions on how to translate at the bottom of this post ![]() The career is based at the Business and Journalism office. It has ten levels and focuses on the writing and painting skills. At the moment, there are no uniforms, but you can edit career outfits with patch 1.31 and above. I may add uniforms at a later date ![]() Again, right now there are no opportunities and at the moment, I'm not planning on adding any, although I may in the future. There are two custom tones: Jot Down Ideas - Boosts writing skill. Sketch and Doodle - Boosts painting skill. Career Levels 1. Comic Shop Clerk ~ Everybody has to start somewhere and this is where you start. When the shop is quiet, flick through the comics on sale and see what makes them tick. Start scribbling ideas of your own in your spare time and you might get picked up to turn your scribbles into something big. §23/hour Hours: 9.00am ~ 4.00pm Days: Mon, Tues, Thur, Fri, Sat 2. Intern Artist ~ Your scribbles were noticed and you’ve been selected to create the artwork for a new comic story. It’s a great way to get your foot in the door and you didn’t even have to write the story! The pay’s not great, but it’s the first stepping stone on your journey of artistic success. §27/hour Hours: 10.00am ~ 5.00pm Days: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thur, Fri 3. Intern Writer ~ Creating the artwork for someone else’s comic is one thing; writing the actual wording behind the pictures is something else entirely! You’re given the pictures and the storyline and your task is to put the words to the pictures. So get writing! §31/hour Hours: 10.00am ~ 5.00pm Days: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thur, Fri 4. Letterist ~ The most underrated talent in comic creation is lettering. The fancy fonts you see in your favourite comics didn’t just appear magically on the paper; somebody was up for many nights practising and playing with fonts. Now that it’s your job, you start to appreciate those people a little more. §46/hour Hours: 9.00am ~ 5.00pm Days: Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat 5. Colourist ~ When you close your eyes, you see black and white images, begging for colour. Well now you’re the person responsible for the colours between the black lines of the drawings. The true skill of comic creation is colouring. Just make sure to stay within the lines, or you’ll have to face one angry comic artist! §58/hour Hours: 9.00am ~ 5.00pm Days: Mon, Tues, Thur, Fri, Sat 6. Beginner Editor ~ You’ve had plenty of experience in comic creation and now the time has come to experience the business side of your chosen career path. And what better way to make a living than to point out mistakes and order people around? Just don’t get too big for your creative boots! §99/hour Hours: 9.00am ~ 4.00pm Days: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thur, Fri 7. Freelance Artist ~ You no longer feel trapped by working on one story for one person. You’re a freelancer and can work wherever you want (more likely, wherever the jobs are available). You’ve started getting ideas for your very own comic story, so start getting those ideas onto paper. §128/hour Hours: 2.00pm ~ 8.00pm Days: Mon, Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat 8. Comic Artist ~ A popular comic writer has admired your drawings and has approached you to work on their next project with you. You’ve developed a personal style with your illustrations and people are starting to recognise your work! §193/hour Hours: 10.00am ~ 6.00pm Days: Mon, Tues, Wed, Sat 9. Comic Writer ~ Your dreams of having your very own comic are coming true! You submitted your own story to a publisher and they adored it! You’re writing at every available moment and fresh ideas keep racing around your head. Keep going, you’re almost there! §265/hour Hours: 10.00am ~ 6.00pm Days: Mon, Tues, Wed, Sat 10. Comic Star ~ You have released your creation out into the world and the public can't get enough! Your publishing house has offered you a four series contract after you won the award for Best New Series. You have arrived with a vengeance in the comic world and soon, comic lovers everywhere will know who you are! Well done! §335/hour Hours: 2.00pm ~ 7.00pm Days: Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri Translating I've included the Language Strings for those of you wanting to translate into other languages. To translate, download the Language_Strings file and open it up in Notepad. <KEY>Gameplay/Excel/Careers/CareerList:Example</KEY> <STR>Translate This Text<STR> Do that for the entire file. I'll be happy to include translations but I'm not fluent enough in any other languages, so any help would most definitely be appreciated If you send me the translated file, I can include it ![]() I've fully tested this and it works for me, but if you do have any issues, please don't hesitate to let me know ![]() Additional Credits: Creon for his tutorial on creating custom careers ThomasRiordan for his assistance with the STBL strings wideopeneyes for requesting the career and giving me the career titles and basic descriptions and rough pay ideas! The creators of SimPE 513 people have said thanks to missyhissy for this download. For more information about this creator and their policies or details, click here. Screenshots
