This is a Maxis Recolour which means that it is a recolour of an item that already exists in your game. Please check the Expansion pack requirements to see which game pack it recolours.
Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
Compatible with patch 1.63.

The very first thought I had upon loading Uni was How can I make my own University world?? I know I'm not the only one already playing around in CAW to that aim. With the hope of soon being able to create and customize our own University worlds, I've converted the Uni rabbit holes into rabbit hole rugs.

These are based entirely on Jynx's rabbit hole rugs that were originally posted at customsims3.com two years ago, and were in fact replicated with the assistance of loose instructions posted by Jynx there.

  • The rugs can be found in Buy mode under Decor > Rugs
  • They need roughly a 4x4 space around them to avoid most routing issues
  • The rugs cost 0 simoleons
  • They are recolorable just like the base game rug they are cloned from

Map tags appear as per usual in Map View. The only notable exception is the Annex-only rug, which carries a blank map tag, presumably because EA bundled the Annex with the Stadium into one rabbit hole instead of implementing the Annex singly. I converted the Stadium-Annex combo rabbit hole, as well as the Annex-only rabbit hole, so you can use either one.
  • These were created on patch 1.50. They will most likely work with future patches, however if EA breaks them, I will look into updating them.

Non class-related functions work in both home worlds and University worlds.

We are all new to University Life and interacting with University rabbit holes, but here's a few things I've noticed pertaining to the rabbit hole rugs:
  • You can place these in your home world, but they will not function as collegiate classes. They do still function for regular skill classes (cooking, guitar, etc).
  • Class options only show up when it's time for class.
  • Specific classes for your sim will only show up on either the EA rabbit holes or the rabbit hole rugs.

You need University Life expansion pack for The Sims 3 for these to work.

Additional Credits:
The creators of S3OC and S3PE, whose tools made these possible.
Last but not least, Jynx, for the original hard work, and the instructions for making future rabbit hole rugs.

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

TS3 Base Game

You need to be a Registered Member to be able to download from MTS. Registration allows you to thank and leave comments for the creators, see your download history, participate in the discussions and much more!

Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.
