Update 03/03/2018 (2.2.300)
Hi friends! I apologize for my absence. Unfortunately I will not develop MCD.I don't have enough time and energy. I have to work hard to make money for moving to another city.
A small update with the removal of ads and networking features will be released soon. Also will be laid out the source code of the program. Anyone will be able to continue the development of MCD.

I hope someone may be able to continue to develop and make MCD the best program for The Sims 4,

Sincerely, Dmitry Tkachev. Your Russian friend

  • Notifications center updated.
  • File analysis runs faster now.
  • Some errors fixed.

Hi, my name is DmitryMalfatto. I'm from Russia.
Here's my project, Mod Conflict Detector for The Sims 4. It's a powerful GUI tool for detecting and solving mod conflicts in the game. Allows you to get rid of trouble-making mods, empty mods, mods for another games, or technically-not-even-mods, that got in the Mods folder by mistake. I've been developing this program since February 2015, and now it's finally available not only in Russian, but in English as well!

Main Features:
  • Detect non-TS4 files;
  • Detect stray files (not *.package, *.zip et al, but something that doesn't belong in your Mods folder);
  • Disable (particular) mods;
  • Open file in s4pi;
  • Show file in folder;
  • Delete file(s) straight from the program;
  • Search for duplicate mods;
  • Analyse files (to find out exactly in what way they modify the game);
  • Copy conflicting ResourceKeys.

System Requirements:
  • Operating system: Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10*;
  • RAM: 1 GB
  • .NET Framework 4.6
* RT, Phone and Mobile editions are not supported

Additional Credits:
A big thanks and a special mention goes to:
  • adamhathcock for SharpCompress library;
  • creators of Microsoft.Windows.Shell.dll library;
  • creators of s4pi for the inspiration;
  • KuriXarya for the very idea of the program & help with Russian grammar;
  • Petr54 for the testing & ideas on how to improve the program;
  • Postoyalec [ToDoAbout on MTS] for the English translation.

Hmm... was working fine yesterday but I try to open it up today and it says the program has stopped working. Seems like this program is a 50-50 chance if it works for people or not.

I keep getting a "File Loading Error: DT.SimsMods.dll & DT.Extension.dll & DT.SimsMods.PackedFile.dll"

Everything is extracted to the same folder and I tried deleting, redownloading, and re-extracting everything again and still the same error.

Doesn't work at all...keeps loading, but doesn't do anything else besides that. I left it working for 2 hours straight, and it was still loading.

Will this get updated? I need it now more than ever, my game freezes on every single possible loading screen there is but very 50-50 way, so it would take me literally forever if I tried the 50-50 method to find my bad CC.

make a new folder, extract all files to that folder then run the exe, beware if you have tsr archive files, ie use their download manager, this program flags them as the sims 3 files, which they are not, Sims 4 Studio is more useful IMO. This tool labels everything, including overrides as conflicts, even recolors...

no, the only thing this program apparently does is reference whether something else is sourcing the same information, ie recolors and overrides it label as conflicts, probably not a true conflict, this mod also labels The SIms Resource files that you download through their D.L. manager as Sims 3 files. Not very reliable, it does find duplicate files just fine though. I miss Delphy's mod fixer, now that was a good tool.

The mod does actually work. I HAD the same issue as all of you. The exe file was coming up that it had stopped working, I tried going into properties and running the exe in compatibility mode etc, but still the same issue. But I found a fix for me and hopefully you guys too. All you need to do is download the modconflictdetector9063 zip folder on the download section of the mod, extract it to a folder, I made one on my desktop called 'MCD'. After that just run it with or without admin and it'll work. Hope this helps, and be sure to let me know if it did. PS i do NOT have windows XP i use latest update of windows 10.

Doesn't work. Will not scan mods.... was working fine a week ago. Now it says the directory name is too long?

"System.IO.PathTooLongException: The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters."

I have Windows 10, the latest patch, and downloaded the MCD_2.2.100.0.zip and this works perfectly fine for me with no errors. I did testing with mods I know conflict with each other and those I know that don't and it works as it's supposed to. Not sure why so many are getting errors, but make sure you have the correct requirements listed in the main post.

Windows X / Latest Patch /
Opens & runs immediately, however it loaded up in Cyrillic, then when I changed the language to EspaŮol it changed to English. Other than that works as intended.
