My apologies to anyone who downloaded this when it first appeared. I realised that I didn't include the actual record in the zip which would be of no use. the file is now corrected

This is just one of several parts of the Sims Economy Project, so look out for more uploads soon.

For the past year and a half I have been working on a huge project consisting of setting up an economy style gameplay as part of a series of documents incorporating mod functions, game rules and sections for the Sim's information.

To use this tool you must have full access to MICROSOFT OFFICE (2013 was used to create this) making sure that the software supports or is Macro enabled. I am looking at creating a version that can be used on a free software but for now I am sticking with Microsoft. You will also need to have the following expansion packs: SEASONS and it isnít definite but APARTMENT LIFE, especially if you are using this for its gameplay aspect.

The concept of this project was to make my Simís gameplay somewhat realistic and harder to play by creating a database tool that supports the tracking of an economical system, i.e. inflated bills, government fees, banking, taxes, Excess bills, a welfare system, legislation and laws as well as the convenience of keeping track of Sim and Household details whilst keeping a tab on the game progression. This is solely a tool so that you as the player, can structure your desired economy whilst having a foundation in place to return the outcomes you want.
In order for the economy aspect to work I have had to create a dating format. I originally used real dates when making the project for my own use but that was because I had a realistic lifespan mod, which went by real age meaning I could use calendar dates but having took to the threads and posing this idea, it wasnít received too well so I decided to go by days and seasons and a year set by the player, which is why SEASONS is required.

My initial intention was to create a database. However, I am not that tech savvy so I stuck to excel and made it as easy as possible to use. It took some math, plenty of brain scratching and economical decisions but I am satisfied with the outcome. It can be a pain that it is pretty much a manual tool, meaning you have to remember to update the records and game in correlation with each other but I have expanded the auto-calculation ability by creating several formulas so that there is minimal data input needed, as well as providing reminders throughout the record when certain changes are made.

The majority of all the sheets have locked cells so that they are not accidently edited as that can destruct the whole record and trust me you do not want to sit forever trying to correct it but to save the panic I have made all of the records templates, so if you ever mess up the formulas you can just create a new record by double clicking the template. I would suggest that any permanent editing that needs to be done should be through the templates and then copy and paste either the sheet or formulas to all the existing records. This way it saves time and if you mess up on any formulas you can just re-download the original records.

I initially made the project with fixed rules through formulas but after taking to the threads on Mod the Sims, I found that the project would need more flexibility outside of my personal use. Some of the calculations are loosely based around some modded objects I have in my game but you will find that the majority of the settings in all the records can be changed to your specific requirements through the Set Up and Government pages.

These pages consist of variables that determine the calculation of the taxes and fees and so on. However, there is a small amount of fixed rules via formulas that are applied to the documents so that the system flows properly and to cover any loopholes that may exist. Though there are fixed formulas/rules, these can all be changed to your liking but it will take you editing formulas to do so. If you would like to make system adjustments, there are some instructions within each record explaining how you can do this. Otherwise, you can always ask me directly and Iíll be happy to walk you through it. As far as the functioning of the records, there is plenty of information included within the records for you to refer to. Some of the inputs in the records are predetermined through auto calculation when you type in certain cells.

I intended for this gameplay to be applicable to The Sims 2 but this does not mean it canít be used for other Sims games, it may just mean you are not able to use all aspects of the system without making adjustments to certain functions beforehand. You are free to adjust this document for personal use but please do not re-upload this project to any site including ModTheSims. Instead, please link back its original download page.

The zip file includes v11.08 of the Personal Record along with a Guide. For installation and Set Up information, please go to the installation tab, otherwise read the guide included in the file.

Please take your time to check this out, I have become somewhat passionate about this to the point where I am talking formulas in my sleep. LOL so I wouldnít like to think Iíve done all this brain picking for zippo.
Otherwise, it is more than likely I have missed a few things out so if you could let me know and I can update it for future uploads. Thanks for downloading and happy Simming!

Make sure that macros are enabled in the document by going to File-Options-Trust Centre-Trust Centre settings-Macro Settings and selecting enable macros. You may not have to do this as it should prompt you to enable the macros on opening the record. The records can be placed anywhere in your computer as long as you have administrative access to the area so that when you link cells in the records they will freely do so without any errors.

I have used several financial objects in order for me to use this gameplay which I do recommend you to use. There is an updated version of Moniqueís computer Chaavik http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/topic,78086.0.html for banking and her bill paying mod http://modthesims.info/d/203984 for making payments and KatyPís functional bank off of PCsims (now graveyard)http://sims2graveyard.com/index.php...ness-type-stuff for her bank book and credit card. If you have other financial objects that you can use in replace of these then feel free, these are just what I based my personalized gameplay on.
To get started with the Economy Game play a few things will need to be set up in your game if they are not already. There needs to be a government Sim that receives payments from the Sims i.e. tax etc., a finance manager who deals with all the banking related payments and an insurance Sim that receives all protection payment (if you have a set up more convenient for you please disregard what I have just said). This can also be done by renaming a few Sims or keeping track of which Sims have each role.
