This is another one upload of mine that started out as a Fishmas gift over at Leefish.nl. During Fishmas Santafish shares mystery gifts from mystery fish, so that each day leading up to Christmas has a fun Sim-surprise. You'll find this creation in Fishmas 2016, but I decided to upload it here as well because I know not everyone checks Leefish (you ought to!) and I think it's something more people would enjoy.
Merry Fishmas teens of the Simworld! With this present, you're all guaranteed to have smoother skin, better self-esteem and less zit cream costs! Put your money to better use, and stop worrying that horrible zits will burst out all over your face right before that special date.
What is this?
This is a global mod that lowers the hygiene threshold below which zits could appear. I'd like to start out with a disclaimer that hygiene has nothing to do with zits in real life, and that I disagree with EA suggesting it's the individuals fault they get zits. But that's the system EA made and I'm going to work with it.
In original coding Sim teens are at risk of getting zits if their hygiene drops below 75%, so less than 3/4 full hygiene bar. I think that's rather ridiculous, because that means they are at risk of zits if they do any kind of exercise or have to rush off to their job straight after school without showering in between. I think zits are a fun addition but I don't want every single teen to get them, so I decided it was high time to lower the hygiene threshold to give the teens a chance to keep their faces clean if it matters to them.
There are two variations on offer
Less zits
Teens won't be at risk of zits unless their hygiene bar goes below half full. This intended for those of you that like zits, but would like to see them a little less frequently. And if a specific teen wants to avoid zits they can do so by taking a little extra care of hygiene, while still having room to exercise a bit.
Almost no zits
Teens won't be at risk of zits unless their hygiene bar is completely drained. This is intended for those of you that would like to see no zits at all. There's still a small risk, but as long as you stay away from babies throwing up on your Sim you should be able to avoid zits. While possible to make it a true 0% chance it'd be more complicated and take more work, so I decided that this was a good compromise.
Compatibility
Compatible with all EPs and SPs. Does not require any EP in particular, works with base game.
Conflicts
None that I am aware of. Will only conflict with mods affecting hygiene threshold for zits.
How to edit
If you'd like the hygiene threshold to be different than what I offer here, you can easily change it yourself with SimPE.
If for some reason you can't edit it yourself and you'd like a different threshold than what I offer, you are welcome to ask me for help. Anyone is capable of doing it themselves, and I encourage you to try, but I know not everyone has SimPE and that it may be overwhelming to some, so I'm happy to help you out if you can't do it yourself.
