Hi!
I really like this mod, but I wish it only nerfed the envionrment moodlets, rather than destroying them altogether. I like that my richer sims feel happier because of their expensive homes, but just don't want it to be as powerful as it is now.

Open up the mod in Sims 4 Studio. Change the number value at line 18 on both tunings that says:
<T n="max_value_tuning">1</T>

The DEFAULT game number value is:
<T n="max_value_tuning">641</T>

All the author did was change it to 1, so it has a really low value to not affect Sims (putting 0 would turn it off completely). If you just want it nerfed, say in half, then try changing it to:
<T n="max_value_tuning">320</T>

You'll have to play the game a bit and see how much the new value affects your Sims. If it's still too much, then try lowering the number. If it's not affecting them, then use a higher value. You'll just have to play with number values between 1 and 641 until you get something you're comfortable with.

The Sims 4 update to v1.36.99 was a major patch to prepare for the Cats & Dogs expansion. Many mods will be broken by it and require an update from their creators. But thankfully, my mods have survived, and continue to work with no changes required!

Yes, this mod ought to still be compatible with the 1.40.61 Jungle Adventure patch.

Thank you for such a great mod, this makes my sims so much more interesting since they actually have more than one emotion. Is it possible to make additions to this mod? Like also getting rid of the happy moodlet when a sim's needs are high. Even without the environmental moodlets, my sims still often get too happy from comfortable furniture and my sims' needs being full.

Have you tried their True Happiness mod?

Can you make a variant that adds back in the moodlets via a trait you can put on select Sims? (like a reward trait) It's ok if you can't make it a reward trait.

This mod is unlikely to ever stop working, as it is in effect just intentionally causing the files it overwrites to stop working.

My mod Meaningful Stories is now available! It is made up of the best of all of my work redesigning the emotions of The Sims over the past two years, including No Happy Environment Moodlets. If you've been enjoying this mod, I recommend you try out Meaningful Stories!

Quote:
Meaningful Stories is a mod pack that redesigns the mood and emotions system of The Sims 4. This collection of changes big and small aims to allow your sims to feel more human, to make the events in their lives feel more meaningful, and to turn managing their lives into a more interesting challenge.

Your sim might get into a depressive rut for days that takes planning and effort and some help from their friends to overcome. Or your sim's creative nature might be filling them with inspiration when they ought to be focused instead, so you send them to work on their novel to get the ideas out of their head. But then something special happens, like a new friend, a promotion, or a first kiss, and they feel truly happy for once, in a way they never have before.

Thank-you for this mod. My sims always seem unrealistically too happy.
