February 2010 Stuff

Date Posted: 5th Feb 2010 at 7:17 AM

I obtained Sims 3 High End Loft Stuff yesterday and installed it with no problems. The current game version is 3.0.3.x.

My plans for Sims 3: HELS is to test the mods and verify they continue to work for the current game version and then make notes of what doesn't work.

The new install location for mods has changed. For XP users, the new location is now:

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 High-End Loft Stuff\Mods\Packages

I will note this new install location in all of the threads I host my mods in for Sims 3, Sims 3 World Adventures and maybe later Sims 3: HELS threads if I find any new stuff to play with code-wise.

Don't forget to tell your loved ones "I love you" this month!

January 2010 Stuff

Once again.. Happy New Year! I hoped your new year was a good start with a lot of good things to look forward to for the rest of the year.

In the works:

A Sims 3 mod with no set mod name that will make upgrading faster. Two flavors will be offered once the mod is out of testing. As requested by a member here on the site.

Nothing on the plate for Sims 2 yet, but I have been debating whether to go ahead and release a Sims 2 mod or not that allows YAs to run their own home businesses on their home lots at Uni. Maybe, maybe not. As requested by someone on another site.

Well, that's it for January.

January 22:

Upgrade Times - Sims 3 World Adventures is uploaded and now available for grabs. Enjoy!

November-December Stuff: December 31 2009

I have been asked by several people if I plan to update my Sims 3 mods, and I told one of them on another site I am planning to update them soon. I just don't have the new EP to look into the new interactions and how the new EP affected my Sims 3 mods. Hopefully I should get it today or this week whichever comes first, but I am definitely getting it.

Please be aware that I know the mods need to be looked into for possible updates. Check back here for further details.

I am also working on a few Sims 2 mods and haven't done anything lately considering that I just took a holiday with my family and friends to celebrate Thanksgiving and to do other things for a bit.

Well, anyway, keep checking back for details on the Sims 3 mods.

*Edited: 11-30-09*

I finally got the World Adventures EP for Sims 3 today. My plan is to play the new EP and to look into possible updates for 1.7.9 and WA. Yes, the patch indicated 1.7.9 and not 1.6.9 as some people mentioned previously.

Hopefully I will be able to finish updating what mods needed updating by the end of this week or next week when time permits.

Check back again for further details on Sims 3.

*Edited: 12-15-09*

I updated most of the mods for Sims 3. On my To Do list is to rework the Children Can Make Meals mod and test it for World Adventures. When it will be released, it depends. Check back for further details.

*Edited: 12-22-09*

Uploaded a new series of gardening mods to allow children to maintain their gardens and have fun caring for their little plants.

On the To Do list:

Children Can Make Meals

By the way, Merry Christmas to those who do celebrate Christmas with their families and friends. Happy Winter Solstice to those who don't celebrate Christmas but to enjoy the winter offerings and look forward to the new year just around the corner.

I hope your holidays will be warm and safe as well your New Years starting off well.

December 31 2009:

Well, today is the last day of the year for 2009! I hope you will enjoy the New Year safely with your families and friends. Think twice before you drink and drive. Is it worth it?

To Do List:

YAOwnHomeBusiness is a project I have been working on to enable YAs to run their own home businesses from their Uni home lots. It is starting to shape up pretty well with a couple of snafus that needed to be looked into. This mod will compliment AncientHighway's college series mods that make college life far more interesting for your college Sims instead of dragging yourself through 8 long semesters of boredom.

Monique's Computers (FT and AL) is another project I finished a long time ago and uploaded them at Inseminator. I am planning to polish them up a little and take pictures of the versions I have before I upload them to a new thread with a pointer to Monique's original thread. I won't take credit for these wonderful computers because I still think Monique really does deserve all the credit for the groundbreaking work she did. She definitely was a genius and will be sorely missed.

Happy New Year, folks! Have a safe holiday!

September Stuff

Date Posted: 8th Sep 2009 at 4:17 PM

With the holiday out of the way and the fall weather coming in with the changing of leaf colors, I have some time to mess around with Sims 3.

On My To Do List:

- Rummage Through The Trash to be boosted for Fun motive
- Faster Police Report writing

I mentioned awhile back about a request from one of the Sims 3 mod threads about having Sims gain body skill points instead of gardening skill points. I dug deeper into the game code, realizing that this will most likely become a core mod if I was to change the way Sims gain skill points from doing the gardening tasks. I put this little project on hold for now.

Another project I have on the back burner is to do with my Children Can Make Meals mod to see how I can change the way children can prepare and cook meals. This turned out to be a difficult project, but I'm learning a bit about coding with help and advice from a great member from another forum. Thanks so much, twallan!

*Updated*

I've been planning a project to be unveiled sometimes toward the end of October to honor one special person who made significant impact on the Sims 2 community with her genius works. This project will (hopefully) be hosted here when the details and kinks are worked out.

Don't be surprised if you don't find any further updates on the project or not.

Update: 10-10-09

I've put several Sims 3 projects on hold and focused on a handful of stuff related to Sims 2. At the moment, I'm completing the Better Duty Wages line of mods to enable Sims to make more cash by doing a mod for earning wages as a barista.

Stay tuned.

August Stuff

Date Posted: 22nd Aug 2009 at 8:30 AM

Lately, I have a few projects for Sims 3 to work on:

1. Children Can Make Meals

Needing animations to allow children to use a stepladder to hop onto.

This will be a project to work on when I am able to soon.

2. Less Hygiene Decay And More Fun - Body Only

This is a new project I've been working on very slowly, gathering what I needed to make the changes because a simple tuning file won't allow Sims to gain any point in Athletic. This warrants a further look into the game files to see what can be done. I won't guarantee that this will work or not unless I try.

3. Faster Novel Writing For Sims 3

Shortly, I will make an alternate version without the unlocked genres feature.

These are the three projects I have planned and will do until I am satisfied that they are done and working. I also have a new mod in the works, but I won't say what it is or what it does until I release it for children.

I uploaded more fun activities for Sims 3. Check it out!

Hope your day had been a great one.

*Update*

Faster Novel Writing For Sims 3 is done. The new alternate version is available for those who don't want the genres unlocked.

June Stuff

June 3rd:

Sims 3 has arrived. I picked up my pre-ordered copy yesterday, installed the new game and played for hours exploring a lot of interesting and a lot of annoying things in the game.

I grabbed the Prima Guide today to get more details about some of the things I didn't quite get a hang of. The guide was extremely useful.

I may or may not make a couple of mods for Sims 3 if no one else already did, but there is one mod in mind I wanted to create.

Biggest obstacle right now is to find out what I need to mod Sims 3 with.

No big plans to mod the game like some of the well-known figures in the Sims 2 community have to totally change the way we want to play Sims 3. But I do have plans down the road to revamp some of the Monique computers I updated for both FT and AL. A few small things to add, but so far as I'm concerned, those computers are pretty much done for.

I have no plans right now to build a computer similar to Monique's for Sims 3 because it seems redundant to add what's already there to access easily.

Anyway, I'm rambling.. Hope you guys had a great day or night!

June 26th:

I uploaded a mod for Sims 3 and have two more to be submitted. After playing Sims 3, I liked the game well enough to want to keep it on my machine and thought of many different things that could be improved. But so far, with a minimal set of mods for Sims 3, I felt like I was going back to Sims 2 base game and enjoying the simple game without a lot of CC or a lot of mods like Sims 2.

Hope you're enjoying Sims 3 to a degree and finding things fun to do in the game.

May Stuff

Date Posted: 4th May 2009 at 1:42 AM

I have been working on a few mods on my own and having them hosted on the new Insim.org site alongside with Mr. Squinge, who graciously let me host some of my works with him separately.

Soon to be uploaded:

Better DJ Wages (Uploaded)
Better Cafeteria Wages (Uploaded)
Better Bartender Wages (Pending - To be uploaded)
No Autonomous Smell Flowers (original is hosted on Insim) (Uploaded)
Modified - Study Skills Faster (also has another version) (Uploaded)

I don't have any new mods in the works at the moment. I sort of stopped doing new mods for a few months due to personal reasons. If I do find a way to make something more fun or creative in Sims 2, I will post them.

May 17th, 2009:

I got a mod in the works, No Autonomous RC Cars - Universal, that was done by request on Insim and decided to upload to here as well. This mod curbs the autonomous "Play With" behavior on all RC cars. The "Play With" interaction isn't nuked if the Sim is directed by the player to play with an RC car.
