Installing University After Nightlife?

I have Nightlife only and am going to install University. Is backing up my files, then placing them back after the install enough to ensure I still have my saved games after the install?

I have not found an answer for this because most bought University first obviously and Nightlive after. So I just don't want to lose my lovely houses and families when I instal University. Is backing the files up and restoring them good enough? I am just wondering because this is a different process than installing the EPs in a row, since I am putting Uni in after Nightlife.

To my knowlege this hasn't been answered before, if so, then if you could point me in the right direction I'd be real happy.

Sigh... Copied My DOcuments/ EA Games/ The Sims 2. Installed University. Put in Nightlife CD. Placed the copied folder into its origional location. Played game and *poof* my houses are gone and everything is default.

This is crap. I have one more folder that I copied just incase this happened, so can you guys tell me what wnet wrong?

So, you backed-up My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2? The whole folder?
