I see a few good tutorials about recoloring skin and clothing but so far found nothing on recoloring hair. I have Photoshop and BodyShop I know how using photoshop to recolor something basically using thehue/saturation tool. My question is when I open up the stuff in photoshop there is like 20 images which one(s) do I re-color? If someone can help me or point me in the direction of a tutorial for hair re-coloring I'd appriciate it.

I'm not sure where to find a tutorial but when you export hair you have the texture (the color images of the hair) and the alpha (the black and white) files. If you're just doing a recolor all you have to worry about are the textures.

When you export a woman's hair you'll get a dozen or so texture files with names that start like afhair (adult female), cfhair (child hair), pfhair (pre-school hair), tfhair (teen hair), efhair (elderly hair) etc. There will be four or so of each type of texture file and each corresponds to a different part of the hair mesh (front, back, sides, underlayers, etc).

And you have to recolor everything if you want the set to be fluid. For example, if you only want to have a platinum blonde teen female then you can just recolor that component but when she transitions to adult her hair will go back to the default hair type that you didn't recolor. It's a little tedious but most of the time the adult and teen will have the same hair so you can just do a lot of "save-as's" overtop of the old textures.

If you have Photoshop I'd suggest experimenting with the Replace Color and Match Color options to speed up the process.
