Anyone knows if there is a limit,in terms of MB or number of objects
that one can put in the download folder,before the game crash?

There isn't a set limit, but the amount of ram you have, your cpu, your gpu, etc., will determine how much you can have before you have problems.

I've said this in a few threads already. The folder itself may have a limit to the # of files (it's a Microsoft limitation) so you're better off subfoldering them if you think you have too many. There are folks here who have GBs of files - with the # of files reading the tens of thousands, but I guarantee that they have them all organized in subfolders for easy searching.
Just remember that you can NOT subfolder Body Shop items unless you have Nightlife installed. And even then, you can only subfolder them in Downloads, not SavedSims.
