Recolouring Pictures

Hello! Ive read through Numenors simPe tutorial, but Im having a problem recolouring paintings, I want to recolour a painting, and Ive followed the tutorial step by step, but the subset selection window doesn't appear. It only happens for paintings though. The tutorial says: NOTE: the "Subset Selection" windows doesn't appear if the object has only one recolourable part.
Do paintings only have one recolourable part? And if so, how do I recolour paintings?

Most of the paintings have only one "color" yes - A single texture. Just follow the tutorial as usual, save out your new .package from workshop, and then edit the new package to your heart's content.

If you have followed the "recolor" steps of the workshop, the new package will show up as just that, a second color option to the original object, and requires the original object in downloads to show up (if you aren't recoloring maxis base objects)
